It’s worth noting: if you are ordering your truck, factory spray in is going to cost you a few days, possibly up to a week. They drive your truck across the street to a different facility for this and it adds to the overall build time.

This used to be a big deal around here two years ago, now it seems like nobody orders their trucks anymore :frown:

Anyway I have the factory spray in and I’m quite happy with it.
Hi Daniel,

When I retired from Ford, we were planning to add spray in bedliner on line at the Assembly Plant. That apparently fell through and it is an off line opperation, which we tried to avoid at all cost as it is expensive... Spray in at the time was Rhino Liner and it sucked on our prototypes when in Arizona summer heat. I was against spray in, but having the factory spray in on my 2019 Ranger is very nice. Horrible on my knees but I can deal with this abrasive nature of this bedliner. My 2007 Ranger had a drop in....I knew the paint under the drop in would look terrible if I removed it, but we used a drop in to solve some Ranger NVH at the time where the pickup box headboard sounded like a Tuba.... Little known fix for the old Ranger....Ford Service had this info but refused to issue a TSB or SSM for those hard to solve NVH due to the costs. SIGH!

Lipstick on a pig...lol

I can’t stand the drop-ins, stuff slides around too much. I actually use a rubber mat on top of my spray in, to protect the...uh...bed liner. But it solves the sliding and the knees problems, while also having the walls protected.

My uncle has one on his F150 and it does not fit as well as yours. That looks really nice!!!
Thanks, it fits pretty well. It could use a center velcro strip on the front bulkhead and tailgate like the sides have. It's not a functional wish, just aesthetic, since it floats there.

which seems like an excellent compromise.

If you already have the truck, I don't see how you can get factory. Instead you'll be at the mercy of the dealer to pick a local. And it seems that who you pick is more important than the brand, with application technique varying. You might check on Bullet Liner dealers in your area, from the little I saw.

Personally I decided to try a BedRug. Still had my rewards points to spend, so it was less than $200 shipped from fairwayfordparts.net. Nate makes it real easy too, providing a quote via email that has a link to purchase. I had it in under a week.

On my last truck, I did the Raptor spray in liner myself. After about several hours of questioning my sanity (it's a fair amount of prep work in sanding and whatnot), I have vowed that I will go and get one put in. I personally like the spray in because it also is a bit of a sound damper (no @AzScorpion not a tailgate damper) for when you drop/throw something in the bed of the truck.

Since your in AZ, Sanderson Ford in Glendale does the Line-X liners. I went there to get mine bed sprayed. the reasoning is that they are a ford dealer, which means they have more practice on spraying Rangers than does any other aftermarket company.

I’ve had both at one time or another in my house. Honestly the drop in’s are not worth it. Over time sand and grit get underneath and scratch the hell out of the factory paint. Old truck was a steel bed so in no time started rusting. That was a whole new headache. First experience with spray in was with my sons and his F150. Prep and taping was most of the time. Used corse scotch brite pads on a rotary right angle sander and distressed paint so no clear coat was left. Power washed and then wiped down. Taped and masked off then sprayed in 3 coats and add grit on last coat. He’s a plumber by trade so constant bed use. Not only tools but water heaters and the like. Still looks as good as the day we put it on. That is some tough stuff!!! Will be doing the same to my Ranger this spring.

In my research, Line-X was more slippery but tougher. Rhino was softer but less durable. Line-X has a lifetime warranty. If you don't have a bed cover, get the more expensive UV-protected spray. When I asked for a spray-in after my truck was already on the lot, my Ford dealer was trying to send me to a Line-X dealer nearby anyway.

"to protect the...uh...bed liner." haha that's hilarious. But I've thought about using rubber mat on top of a spray in liner as well. That would be much more friendly on golf clubs in the bed etc. I don't yet have the liner (just spent my money on tires and wheels) but when I do I think I'll do a rubber mat as well.

Just got to Home Depot or Lowes and by a 5' door mat and lay it in the bed, works great.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm actually visiting family in the Gilbert area. That's a great deal and I like to support veterans. Booked an appointment today.

No idea yet, Don. We had a warm spurt in early November when I installed it, but it hasn't been out of the garage all that much since.
