I think this deserved to shared ?

Its a Thai Ranger (body is similar to what we get in the Philippines) buy according to the video its got a 3.2 turbo diesel engine. Looking at the truck in the video it seems that have upgraded the radiator and turbo hoses with a more durable one. And of course they have it lowered.

What do you think?

yes! They are size-limited by series regulations.

Very cool! I love it! (Except for those series spec'ed tires!)

SCCA used to run the Race Truck Series back in the late 80s-early 90s. They ran them at the St. Pete Grand Prix. Nothing like a Jeep and a Ranger going at it along with all the other Minis.

I love seeing that Mitsubishi.

The first truck I bought was a used ‘86 (I think) Dodge Ram 50 4x4 (Mitsubishi). Tiny little thing with a horribly under-powered 4 cyl. that barely made it over the Rockies or the BC interior mountain ranges - manual locking hubs - 5 speed stick - manual transfer case shifter - chrome steelies - cramped little cargo space behind the bench seat.

I used it to get to and from mountain bike races on the BC and Canada Cup circuits. It had a million miles on it, a leaky head gasket that I had to replace, and a muffler that was starting to fail. I told my friends I bought a truck and they would ask, “What kind?” I’d tell them “a Dodge Ram!” They’d be super anxious to see it and then I’d laugh like hell when they did.

Hi Duke,

Mitsubishi team was owned by Dave Wollen....one very tall thin towering guy. We had a good time jousting about who was going to kick whose butt. Unfortunately his roll cages were not up to the task and almost killed Celeb Driver Jason Baldwin when Jason flipped the vehicle and the cage collapsed.

Here is an article from Road & Track on the series of some 30 years ago.

This link has some footage of the Trucks in actiion....

We used to have the V8 utes racing series here in Australia, which was awesome to watch.

Then when they died out (RIP) they got replaced with the Superute series which are production diesel 4x4 utes... an absolute joke compared to the old V8s. But entertaining when they crash.
