So have had a couple of errors beyond the wrench icon/general powetrain warning:

1) The clutches message (attached).
2) Solenoids message (attached)

anyone else seen this? Do y’all know the cause and/or the outcome? Also it has failed to go into gear at a stop and acting like it is in neutral. Has done it even once for reverse. It has gone into limp mode a couple of times, which is 7th gear. Just dropped it at the dealer this morning and have another Ranger as a loaner.

Upside: You get to have a fluid flush done after breaking it in already (pun not intended).

Al least it seems to already be traced down to a bad solenoid so that saves a lot of poking around to troubleshoot.

Let us know it goes!

That is unfortunate to have happen. Most likely some faulty programing and/or faulty parts in the transmission. At least it is covered under warranty

It is. The loaner is an XLT 4x4 with the tech, FX4 and 301A pkg. My 4x2 felt quicker and snappier. I really miss the 302A pkg I had. That’s power seats and remote start. I’ll be very glad when I get my truck back :)

It would certainly be nice if manufacturers stopped designing complicated answers to questions nobody is asking. I'm referring to the transmission itself, not the above bulletin.

I would have been happy with a 6-speed manual to be 100% honest. I know the Taco has that but I like the Ranger much more.

So heard from the dealer - and this is preliminary as they haven’t opened it up yet - the codes and drivability seem to point to a valve body issue. Service manager stated that if they see metal in the fluid that all bets are off.

That’s my thought too. They were behind about a week for the tech and part procurement was slow due to rona. Was nice to know I didn’t have crap in the fluid and also nice that I have fresh fluid post break-in. Was also very happy that an update was performed. Anyway, now to install my tailgate damper. Yes, seriously as I bought it about two weeks ago. ?
