So this worked out with pure dumb luck (bolt clearance) I could slide them on about halfway and then had his rubber mallet the rest. These won’t even come off without bolts unless the flooring breaks but of course I will be securing it.

I want to run rubber grommets, o rings, or gaskets for the slots on the framing strut can anyone advise if there is a product made Specifically for this or do I just need to find a grommet of similar shape and make it work. (see image)

The problem is the slots are oblong and not circles I suppose I could do a form of weatherstripping without issue but I would preferred to be seamless.

The plan is to install them with black sealant to prevent any city water or dirt from getting under the ring.

On another note I had considered find some waterproof strobing led strips / rope and installing them down the inside of the framing strut before I cap them off. Why spend money on stand alone warning products when I can turn the whole frame into a warning light using the slots.

Working on the 44 inch six light front panel the alignment isn’t perfect but as they say good enough for government work.

Edit: I think I have an idea how to integrate a wind fairing directly behind this as I will be using brackets to stand off the panel about 3" lower and 4" away from the front frame beam. I know it might seem silly considering I will have six dinner plates up there, but it will cover the gap much better from the roof line to the front frame beam, won't cost much, and something is better than nothing.

Four Day Plan

- Thursday Evening: Prime front panel & prime rear panel.

- Friday Morning: Paint front panel, paint rear panel, & install additional connection brackets for the unistrut framing and skirting panels.

- Friday Day: Amber tint factory fog lights, run final wiring for rack lights to switch box, & paint, cut to shape, & install unistrut end caps.

- Friday Evening: Install front panel, install rear panel, & install Ranger5g decal on middle of rear panel. :fistbump: , install new large better quality US + Israeli flags on truck bed sides to replace smaller ones, & install various rubber blocks I ordered to put between the RCI rack and frame in some open spots to shore up any cross beam movement & damage over time vibrations.

- Saturday Morning: Maiden voyage as an elevated shooting platform. Taking my daughter to the range to prone out on top and see if a shooting mat of any sort will be needed in future. I plan to get some drone footage as a bonus.

- Saturday Afternoon (Pending Amazon Deliver): Install no-slip grip tape down the middle of the rack, install rubber caps on all exposed bolt threads, & install conduit tubing under the rack to conceal most current and future wiring.

- Saturday Evening: Prep rear panel for the installation of two LED marker lights & prep wiring for marker lights.

- Sunday Morning: Decide on a railing type and shit or get off the pot (aka go to the store).

- Sunday Afternoon: Prep / paint said railing for install Monday evening, & install marker lights.

- Sunday Evening: Roll a final light coat of semi-gloss black on the framing of the rack with a finishing roller

To Do List 2021

- purchase and install ARB awning
- design, build, & install wind fairing
- design, build, & install folding/sliding ladder system
- start considerations of custom half bed full length steel dog box (that is designed to fit around wheel well) with integrated storage systems on top to include a tray system of some sort.
- further lighting considerations
- start considerations for solar panel systems / battery bank systems / all other self containment systems

I'm sorry I'm a day late, but Happy Hanukka brother!

I'm Catholic, but my wife is Jewish, and I always make sure she gets her eight nights of presents. I'm always sad for her when the presents end. :)

I hope you had a great Hanukka!

Still need to amber tint new set and seal them proper like. Had a spare moment to pull the old flags off and install the new ones. Also the rubber spacers came in today and they are nice and beefy. Had to put slight pressure on the cross beams to shove them in where I wanted them and it worked out perfectly. None of the cross beams visibly show any movement, but for the price over-built better than under-built.
