Has anybody here installed a cat-back exhaust with no lift? I don't have access to a lift and will be doing this by myself, and was wondering how much of an undertaking (no pun intended!) this will be.

I did it in my driveway with no lift, no problem. I mean it’d be easier with a lift but totally doable without.

Awesome, thanks Tyler. That's what I like to hear. Nice color on your Ranger, by the way!

Yes very easy to do with the truck on it’s tires. You need something to support the down pipe while you switch the cat-backs. Impact makes easy work of exhaust clamp bolts. Only thing I wish I had was a pair of exhaust hanger pliers. But I made do.

Thanks J J! I don't have the exhaust yet. I went with the AWE exhaust. In the videos it sounds pretty good without that Borla "ricey" sound. It will be here in a few days I hope. It would be GREAT if it were here by the weekend, but it hasn't shipped yet from Stage 3. Thank you for the tip on the exhaust hanger pliers. I'll go ahead and buy them since mine are probably still very tight with the truck only having 2400 miles on it. Now, to buy the $400 Snap On or the $16 Amazon pliers for this one-time job... :)

May be able to rent a pair at autozone? I know they rent tools there for one time applications. Just a suggestion. Have you heard the borla exhaust in person?

I did not use a lift or even jack it up. I found a slight dip in my yard where the center of the truck would be over said dip and then just laid on my back in the nice comfortable grass and installed it. 30 minutes and I was done. I have the equipment to do it otherwise, but this was a nice comfortable way to get it done.

How are you liking that Gibson single? I was thinking about going that route...

I like the fit,the look, and it is quite. If you want sound, and I do mean any sound, this is not the exhaust for you.I wanted more flow, yet quiet, and that is exactly what Gibson delivers.
Personally I can not stand the 4 cyl buzz sound,so this was my big reason going this route.

You're gonna love the AWE. Rumble at idle, no drone for me (granted, i have tire, rack, rtt noise), and nice deep exhaust without being over the top.

I like a little noise. I had a mini cooper JCW clubman with the JCW exhaust, and it was loud, gurgled, cracked, and popped, loudly, a lot. It was amazingly annoying. My wife always knew when I got home. :)

I had a Borla muffler installed in place of my stock muffler using the stock pipes. It sounds nothing like that comparison video of the Borla...no popping or ricey sound. I've since added a 91-93 tune so now I might replace the how system with a 3" system.

I installed my AWE exhaust with all 4 wheels on the ground.
Very easy, took about an hour.

A little bit of dish soap on the rubber helps to pull the hangers out.
