From what I understand the adaptive cruise control should include the stop and go feature like their other cars. Has anyone else had stop and go work while using their adaptive cruise control?

Currently, my car will get to about 10 - 15 mph before it flashes a warning and turns off the cruise control feature forcing me to brake.

According to my 2020 Owner’s Manual, under “Automatic Cancellation,” the cruise control system is not functional below 12 MPH.

Are you possibly thinking of Auto Start-Stop? This shuts-off and restarts the engine while the truck is stopped, for the sole purpose of saving fuel. Some vehicles have a feature called “low-speed follow,” or something similar, that automatically creeps forward in dense traffic, usually below about 5 MPH.

It seems like all of the hardware necessary to implement this is present on the Rangers with Adaptive Cruise Control, but Ford elected not to do it. Other manufacturers are in the same boat. Honda, for example, includes low-speed follow on the econo-box Civic, but not on the fully-optioned Pilot.

Hey thanks for the reply, and interesting that they would leave that feature since they already started allowing it2018 f150s.

Here is a video of what I'm talking about:

The Rangers do not have the Stop-and-Go feature. I believe there are additional sensors for that that aren’t equipped.

Can you show me any Ford document that states the Ranger has Adaptive Cruise Control w/Stop-n-Go?

I have never seen any documentation that states stop-n-go is available on a Ranger.

It works on my Lariat, I used it for the first time last weekend. Set it to 75 and never touched the gas/brakes again. When approaching a slower vehicle it automatically slows you down and the speeds up once they either speed up to you change lanes.

Does that include when your Ranger comes to a complete stop?

I'm assuming it does but I never had it come to one. I had shut it off as we were exiting the highway. I did have one car decide to slam on his brakes to take an exit and it slowed it right down then resumed.

I know my bride's Sonata DOES have complete stop/start capability on her adaptive cruise control (they call it smart cruise control and can be switched to normal cruise control). I even tested it a couple of times while traveling in a rush hour congested freeway setting and it works. I think that if you are stopped for a long period of time the info display says you have to use the throttle to start up. Of course, because I don't trust that the technology is foolproof, I tend to not rely on believing it will stop. I tend to not use it, or at least have my foot hovering over the brake pedal while holding my breath. lol

Now I assumed our adaptive cruise control worked the same but never tested it. I am glad to read this thread to make me aware if it's limitations.

Yeah, my hope is that this can be fixed with an internal update to the existing hardware and isn't because of a lack of hardware. I was pretty disappointed to find this out as I live in the city.

Sounds like you are explaining the normal ACC functions, if you watch the video I posted a few replies back you'll see what I mean. I'd be interested to hear if your lariat has that functionality or not.
