Trimmed maybe 0.050 off the end of the funnel and then opened up the slot to @.400 inches.

Hey John, I did both as well.... but focused more on the threaded part "A", I opened up the gap and also modified the "slope" of the thread. (Does that make sense?)

Perfect... that'll help a bunch. Thanks again.

Update: Modified my MotivX funnel ... works great! More HERE

Mityvac 7201,
This unit has served me well for many years. Was especially useful when I had to remove some extra fluid from the transmission on the motor home. Back when I purchased it it was 50-60 bucks on sale. I see they've gone up since then.

Maybe I should have read this thread all the way through before ordering... Hmmmm

I'll report back after I receive the funnel, should be here Thursday...
Took me for ever to get around to this after I received my funnel. I looked at the OP's mods in this thread (boy does he do beautiful work) and took a stab at mine.
10 minutes with a small sanding drum on a Dremel and 2 test fits later I have a perfect fit! I will not post pictures because I hate being laughed at :D
Let's leave it at, it looks like shite but works perfectly.
So if you are artistically challenged fear not, it doesn't have to be pretty to work.
BTW, in my other life I worked on aircraft, mainly helicopters but I did a lot of work on fixed wing craft as well. Over the course of my career I fabricated dozens of "special tools" to do work where no one else though possible with out days of tear down and rebuild and NONE of them were pretty but they all got the job done perfectly... :)

Edit added: I tried this funnel on my 2017 Mustang before and after mods and it fits perfectly...

I am very surprised Motivx doesn’t have an exact fit for our Rangers yet? They were supposed to have it available “early 2020”?

Did you get it direct or from Amazon?

I stole a Pampered Chef flexible (silicone, I think?!) funnel from the kitchen years ago. My wife bought a set of three different sizes, and I think I stole the largest one. It's lived in the garage ever since. ?

I've got 6 funnels... none of them worked such that I didn't have to stand there and hold the funnel with one hand, while pouring the oil with the other.

Sure that works... But it's kind of like somebody using a pair of pliers... to take off a nut, instead of using a socket. Yeah, sure, it works, but there is a better way.

The Motivx funnel is worth every penny. It locks in place.. best funnel I've ever owned.

It truly is one of those you don;t know what you're missing if you've never had it kind of things.

Plus 1 on what John (HenryMac) said....
a small detail, but well worth it!

Most don't need a tailgate damper either....
but BILLIONS of them have been sold!

You truly don't know what you're missing!
