My only complaints are that the rear seat doesn't fold down flat and the stock rake is ridiculous. Other than that I love it.

I like the styling because it reminds me of the 97-03 F-150, which IMHO was the pinnacle of Ford truck looks and design.

I don't like the 5' bed on the SuperCrew. I need the larger bed, but I have kids and need the larger rear seats.

This is my pre-order opinion. My only experience with the truck was test driving a Lariat FX4. Loved the power. Didn't notice the mushy brakes everyone is referring to. Guess I'll need to drive another one and refer to @P. A. Schilke brake improvement write up.
I really do like the looks. For me, the 5 ft bed is perfect and the back seat is perfect for my grandson. We also have a 2001 f-150 and a trailer if we need to haul a large load. The brakes are a little soft, but I adapted quickly. The tonneau cover is one of the best things I ordered. I have really gotten my money's worth out of it.

Driving to get a biscuit this morning and remembered one more minor complaint.

I would gladly give up the never used by me redundant media buttons below the radio in exchange for some climate controls that use ROTARY DIALS for temp and fan speed.

The minuscule pushbuttons are not intuitive at all and there seems to be space there for real knobs, especially if they either removed the media buttons or relocated them to the flat area in the lower part of the screen surround.

I agree the push buttons for the climate are hard to see and useless. I just use the touch screen for the climate (it's so much easier) and just about everything else.

Problem with the touchscreen is that if you are using Android Auto, you have to exit it before you can get to the climate controls.

Likes: Engine feel + ride + capability. A Trucks.com review hit it on the head in saying it "runs like a scalded dog." It's just fun to drive.

With some modest suspension upgrades this thing has proven one of the most comfortable but still versatile vehicles we've owned; a near perfect balance. I've spent much of the past 20 years overseas and often drove the Hilux or LC (pic below; miss that LC; goats aren't mine), and the Ranger is up there with both; better when we add in safety features and comfort). Kudos to the FX4 design and engineering gurus on this forum.

Dislikes: The normal first U.S. model year hiccups (e.g., ignition bezel ring missing), of course. If there's one constant annoyance, it's clipping my toes on the plastic/metal ridge above the pedals. Without heel lift it's a bit tight moving from brake to gas without a few scuff marks at the end of the day. Minor (if silly) and likely more a function of shoe size than the truck.

Really like the overall style and looks of them, but really dislike the brakes.Big ole mush peddle......
And my wife drove my Ranger and complained how touchy they were compared to her '13 F150.

I have an iPhone but I don't connect it all that much. I thought there was a home button so even if you're using your phone you can get back to the main home screen for all the controls? We're going away tomorrow so I'll have to play around with it to jog my memory.

I agree. constantly get comments about its looks when I'm at stores.

But those brakes.. there have been a few times I've found the truck creeping forward when at a stop because I wasn't pushing the pedal hard enough and didn't notice.
Yes! That is exactly what I have noticed also. Makes my brain totally focus on the brakes when I stop. Almost makes me want to shift to park.....

I will comment on the brakes, but I am used to having Brembos from the Mustang. There's still some adaptation going on changing from a V8 to a 4 cylinder turbo.

And I do wish there was a little more storage under the rear seat but I also don't need to store a lot of unnecessary crap anyway

Minor annoyances all: I love this truck, it moves the way its supposed to.

Low speed vibration. Its barely noticeable and if it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't notice it at all, but its there and it goes away at higher RPM/speed.

Rear underseat storage area and lack of 60/40 seat. Ok, this might be the worst thing the truck has, or doesn't have. I use my back seat for storage and to get at the underseat storage, I have to clean off the entire seat, instead of just pushing the accumulate stuff to one side or the other to lift the seat bottom.

The built in navigation takes me on some weird trips, down some odd, little used roads and trails. On our drive back from our hikes, we've been looking for dirt roads to take. Yesterday, it routed me down ITS80, a seasonal road, snowmobile and OHV trail. That was fun and annoying at the same time. Android Auto never did that. Doesn't seem to match anything Android Auto does, no matter the settings in the nav, either fastest route, or shortest route, it takes me to some odd places.

What I love about the Ranger is that it's available in the U.S. again!

What I don't like........the placement of the oil filter.

I actually appreciate the location of the oil filter and the fact that Ford engineers incorporated the use of channels to direct the oil to drop where a catch would be placed anyways. The oil and filter change on this is a breeze in comparison to many vehicles I am accustomed to servicing; former BMW Tech, and more recently Porsche Tech. Of course experiences and preferences vary, so, to each their own. Thanks for sharing!
