There are a few other threads going over this. There are a series of skid plates for the Ranger, the FX4 having all of them. I am not 100% positive, but I believe all 4x4 models, without FX4, have all but the front metallic plate, FD032B. See the diagram below:

Looks like you get either A or B, B being the shinny upgrade, Both are not installed, FX2 early package pics show it with KB3Z-5D032-B, but bean counter caused it to be down graded to a 1/2 piece of silver plastic. defiantly going to add the B and 5c076 plates.

I just got the B plate in the mail today for my 4x4 non-FX4. Scrubbed the finish off with steel wool and put a few coats of Herculiner on it to match my black truck. Anxiously awaiting install upon drying.

Don't know about Tim, but just ordered mine from Autonation Ford - White Bear Lake, they are responsive and into upgraders. $26 shipping to Cali. can't beat that.

I like that dealer and have ordered parts from them in the past. However, I actually found the front skid plate and transfer case skid plate from FC OEM Parts last month for slightly less money and shipping at $21.52 to San Diego.

No, if you have a 4x4 the tow hooks should have an arm that attach to the A plate. Those bolts as well as the rear ones holding the A plate are also used for the B plate. Plenty of thread to hold them both. Slightly redundant, but the coverage is much different between plates.
