No it has its own screw holes located in dash. Grill is stand alone function only.

Correct there is no plugin for the center speaker at the mounting area in dash. Did not feel like disassembling the dash to see if XLT head unit was capable of plugging in and activating a center speaker. Started all this when I thought rear drivers side speaker was blown. Upon removal notice...

If you go with the infinity you will need speaker wire, they ship with only 6 in for speaker connectors…

Just used their site for fitment, bought speakers through Amazon. On daughters used infinity ref-3022cfx on mine used pioneer ts-a878…. Infinity’s sound better in all freq ranges.

Check Crutchfield site for 3.5 speakers that will fit. I ran speaker wire on the XLT to front passenger kick panel and tied into door speaker. Order speaker grill for 8 speaker system to replace solid dash piece…. held in place by clips, new one comes with clips attached for easy swap.

Went to Ford parts on line, part number: KB3Z-2104374-AB

Sounds 40 % better to my ears, replacing door speakers really helped. Grill is $24.00 plus shipping $8.00 from Ford parts…
