FX4 Skid plate on a 2wd. Yup!

Does my 4x4 xl e-locker truck have any skid plates?
Can they be easily added?
Are fx4 skids a direct swap, like there’s brackets already there to secure them to?
Are there aftermarket options that work better?

Yes. it has a smaller black front plate. and in your case, all you need is the larger plate. simple unbolt the old one, bolt in the new. though I've heard something about an air dam on the smaller plate equipped trucks.

If you plane on using the front skid plate as a bash plate I would look around and find aftermarket. I don't think the OE FX4 plate will hold up to many hard hits.

Yeah it looks like my air dam would be removed in the process. I wonder if that affects fuel economy.

Probably, but not enough to worry about it. Well with gas going up maybe worry about it.

Kinda agree. The lack of skid plate makes it disappointing. Kinda wish I now skipped the fx2 and just got the rear locker.

I have the SLX. I have been looking for the plastic FX2 fake skid plate since I don't go off road and imagine it would be less expensive. Just like the look. Added lower valance and hooks. Since my Vin is for a SLX I can't find part #. Is there a number on yours?
