I don't think you understand. Honda USA and Toyota of USA are headquartered here and were founded here. They are semi independent subsidiaries of Honda and Toyota. Jeep and ram are semi independent subsidiaries of fca.
Therefore a locally built Honda is just as American as a ram, and actually more so, since more parts are made in the USA.
You can argue that a Ford or Chevy truck is more American, as long as you happen to avoid the Mexican built trucks, as long as you are OK with a ton of foreign parts, but the US built Hondas and Toyotas are exactly as American as anything from Jeep/Ram/Dodge etc.
Hey, Mexico is in America...so is Canada.

That looks like the current ridgeline be honest. Lololol
Early Ridgeline...

Yeah almost an exact match...Seriously...LOL I know there are brand snobs who look down on anything they have no interest in. Almost an exact match. You guys who don't view the Ridgeline as a truck don't realize 99.9% who sees it will call it a truck...But that doesn't matter. Only matters to those who bought the Ridgeline. I'm not a Ford man. Or a Chevy man or a Tacoma man or Ridgeline man. I'm by the best vehicle for my use at the time that I buy it. I don't buy aesthetics either or I would have purchased another Tacoma.

the more I read from a specific poster, the more I wonder why he is trying to hijack this thread into his own
get over it. nobody cares.
no one cares about what anyone likes, dislikes or drives. no one cares where the money goes. no one cares if you're smarter than another or know more about a subject.
this is a thread you should walk away from, it's not for you.
Some Brand snobs are closed minded to anything else and are militant about their favorite brand.. Almost as bad as Tacoma fanboys. I have no issue NOT buying American if it's not the best solution We live in a global economy. I feel just as patriotic buying a Toyota and Honda.... I will buy the best truck for the money next time around. It may or may not be another ranger...

It's not just having to empty the bed to get to the tire, Tom. It's the use of a donut for a vehicle that is "designed" to carry a large payload and/or a trailer. The use of anything other than a full-size tire is gross negligence as it's extraordinarily unsafe.
I understand what you're saying. I don't care for that either but in normal everyday Street use, the donut is plenty good enough to get to Tire Town. I see people here using donuts as their main tires. They never change them out. I don't carry much in the bed it's usually one purchase of mulch or anything else I need to put back there to take to the dump. My bed is mostly empty. So using the floor trunk would not be a problem for me plus you can always change out the donut for the full size tire.

That would not be something I would worry about. In my opinion, the Ridgeline can be a lot of things to a lot of people. It's perfect for someone wants the utility of a pickup truck with the ride of a large SUV that is reliable and whose truck is NOT a hobby. Many who buy these trucks are hobbiets. No doubt Hondas a more reliable. We have been leasing the wife's CRV for 10 years.

Well, the epitome of DESIGN & Aesthetics to at least 90% of us on Ranger 5G is the new Ford Ranger! The Ridgeline is not a Truck. It's a pitiful modern day interpretation of an El Camino.. in my opinion. Why are you posting pictures of this ugly AF vehicle on a Ford truck site anyway? We want see pics of ppls Rangers ..an discuss all things Ranger! I know I do. That's why I'm on here. I love my new Ranger. I've never set foot in a Honda dealership in my life except to buy a four wheeler 20yrs ago. Honda is good at motorcycles & ATVs NOT trucks (or interpretations of trucks) Post a pic of YOUR new RANGER pls. That's cool. If you own one?? The controlled opposition is out there and we are aware. Why? Cause the new for 2019 Ford Ranger is excellent. Class leading in fact. When I buy new trucks i buy Fords ..in fact i hardly If ever go to a Chevy or RAM dealership. No need. I know who makes the best trucks. Most folks do. When I want a lawnmower ...maybe I will consider a Honda. Pt is when your on top the competition is gunning for ya. Ford is in top of trucks an wont concede that position anytime soon. New F150 next yr '21. New Ranger in '22. It's great time to be a truck guy indeed regardless of "your brand" or whatever. I emphasize TRUCK.

So...sorry to say this...that's no truck. :lipssealed:

The ridgline should be called grocery getter. Nothing wrong with it in its element but it certainly is no truck. I personally would never buy one, however, everyone is different and people like different things.
Exactly . Why doesn't somebody report these ppl that are trolling? Its annoying. It's obvious. The Ranger is a strong competitor. They are very, very worried indeed !

Well most truck buyers dont feel the way you do. Obviously.. based on sales data?Truck buyers know who builds the best trucks by far & that's Anerican truck Co's. Period. Takes ur personal politics an warped economic views elsewhere. Ur not planting seeds here. Hope you enjoy an like your Ranger as much as I like mine! It will serve you well . I'm up to 10k mis an it performs better than day I bought it. That's engineering prowess & build quality/design.

LOL he would fit in well on Taco world!
No kidding right? I don't have a lot of respect for people like that. Very emotional about a truck. I'm not a brand loyal to anybody since the 3G Toyota failed me. yeah I'm leaning toward the Ridgeline mostly because it has a great ride is a lot quieter and Honda reliability We've have been customers of Honda for the last 10 years as no one comes close to the CRV Touring in lease payments, the only vehicle we looked at other than the Honda was the RAV4. But I got a sour taste for Toyota right now, the CR-V is better than a RAV4 as far as I'm concerned. And the Ridgeline and the Ranger are better than Tacoma.

I don't care if people don't want to deal with "but but but it's not a truck!!!" If I say it is, it is because I am the one spending the bread on it.

At the end of the day the only thing that matters is that the vehicle works for you. That is why there is so much choice - different people have different needs and/or wants. A Ridgeline wouldn't meet my needs, but if it meets yours, more power to you. I am pretty much a Ford guy, but I really did try and do an objective comparison between trucks and the Ranger won for what was important to me.
