30% paycut company wide until this entire debacle is over with. Sucks, but better to make less... than nothing at all I guess.

I'm a critical care nurse at a large trauma center. My job is pretty secure, but things have been a little sketchy!

My girlfriend of almost 3 years in an ICU Nurse as well. I will be doing anything for her to keep her going. Hope you stay healthy and thank you for your service/work.

The opposite here...Overtime out the yahzoo. I'm a Police Officer and we are on Emergency Schedules. We're working 16 hour shifts (7) days a week. 2 Teams - 7 days on then 7 off (to quarantine).

Thanks to all of the docs, nurses, truckers, fire & police, they're out there every day keeping our country running. My son (Army, E7) has had his hours cut back severely at this point, but he's still showing up on post on a limited basis. Please be careful out there. We're stronger than this virus!

I'd be fine with that. for most of us, keeping a job is more important than keeping a pay rate. In 2009 I volunteered to take a furlough so I could havea job when the economy started it's way back up. That worked. I said to my boss, hey if you need me to just go home without pay for a few months, I'm ok with that. So I did, and went back to work is 2 months while the other 2/3 of the company got laid off.

Wow that's wierd. Work the hell out of you then go home for a week to see if you are sick?

They wanted 3 teams...so work 1 week then quarantine for 2 weeks (which seems to be how long the incubation period is) but we simply don't even have close to the staffing we need for that since no one want's to be a Police Officer anymore. We're hurting. If Officers start calling out sick there is no one to replace them.....

I work at a auto repair shop so we are considered essential. Not sure how much work will continue to happen though. Stay safe everyone!

So... It's been about 30 years since I had to apply for an unemployment check, but back then I had to provide proof that I was looking for a job. How is that going to work today when most of us are confined to our houses by governor order? I'm not even sure how unemployment works anymore.

My state said to put in a return date of 6 weeks away and I would need Not to try to even find work for them 6 weeks

I work at a 500 bed acute care hospital. I'm not in direct patient care, but thankfully my team and I are deemed "essential". We are preparing for the worst, hoping for the best. It's been pretty crazy and very fluid. I'm not sure what the answer is PPE could very well become a problem that's not exaggerated, hopefully some of our industries can gear up and alleviate supply issues.

I keep trying to get my boss to fire me, but so far I've had no luck. This week I've helped clean all the china in the china cabinet, vacuumed all the baseboards in the house and washed and waxed her car. Aren't there laws about overworking a husband?
