A number of people in our area, received the prized email from Starlink that they can order their dishes. I haven’t been so lucky yet. There are a number of you tube videos about the dish and service now.

By far and away most people are very pleased.

The one thing I have noticed in those locations that get winter, you want to mount the dish well above where snow can accumulate to. The dish moves and is heated. If the dish is unable to move, the motor that moves the dish will burn out.. You also want to make sure nothing is close to the low point of the dish. Being heated, it melts any snow that falls on it. Depending on the temperature, it can create icicles that hang from the dish. If they reach whatever surface is below it. It can also prevent the dish from moving.
These are all obstacles that can be overcome with the proper mounting.

For out in the boonies, it is a premium service, but comes with a premium cost. $800 Cdn for the equipment and $129 a month, for the service. That gives you speeds up to 180 mbps and for the moment during the Beta test, unlimited data. The big question is will they keep unlimited data after the Beta test is over.
