Wrong door handle

Once the dealer puts in a claim for that the process starts at the factory to find out who is responsible and then correct it. Pretty amazing what they know from just a VIN number. They will know who, what day, what time and the lot of parts it came from. Hope it’s the new guy or they’re getting written up.

Most times that things like this happen is when the relief guy has to stand in on the trim line when the line operator needs to go to the bathroom, is on break etc. No excuse for this however.

oh yeah, I was wondering how we didn’t see it. In fact I had my wife come out and I told her to look at both sides of the truck and tell me what’s wrong. She looked for 10 minutes and couldn’t figure anything out until I told her. Then it is incredibly obvious.

it’s a different type of handle. The correct handle is painted to match the rest of the truck. This is a plastic matte finished handle.

Whelp just added that to this note file on my phone that has things to check for when/if the truck the dealer has coming ever makes it here. Was supposed to be here this past Friday.

I usually don't check all the functions on a new car but maybe I should rethink that.
At least all lights, wipers, radio and cruise control

Ford never liked Dave...that is why he bought a Jeep, but it did not deliver...so he is back on Ford's ass to damper every 2023....

Hmmm black truck... Maybe they just forgot to paint the door handle? Hit it with a coat of 303 and it'll match the rest of the truck then bang it with some clear coat. Jobs a goodun.

Clearly the result of the chip shortage! Your truck was sent to the dealer without certain features. When the chips are available, they will be sent to the dealership for installation. Ford is monitoring the situation.

That isn't an old handle nor an XL/XLT handle that is designed to be textured black. That is an "unpainted" Lariat handle. That's why it looks funny. The surface on those is different and designed to be painted.
