Windshield cracked after hitting a small pothole.

I've had the truck 2 weeks tomorrow and less than 500 miles. I was driving home from work today and ran over a small pothole. My windshield immediately cracked from the passenger side bottom edge to the driverside. No rock hit or chips. Took it to the dealer and they inspected it and said they would warranty it.

I've never seen anything like this before, have any of you guys seen or heard of this?

Improper installation and the vibration from the pothole could possibly do it. If you had a small chip or star (which you would already know) then temperature or pressure change could do it.

Main thing is the dealer is stepping up to get it covered under warranty.

Seen it on other makes. It happens. Great the dealer is taking care of it.

Congrats on your dealer taking care of that for you. Once replaced they will have to reprogram the camera.

Any push back from the dealer about covering it? I washed mine last night and when I went to the store today I noticed a freaking crack as well. No evidence outside of a chip and don't recall hitting any potholes after washing, so has me baffled. Hope to bring it in Tuesday as I am off work.

that crack clearly started at the bottom the dealer will fix. just sucks to have to go get it done.
