When I bought my Ranger used from CarMax I noticed some chips in the glass. They said they would replace the glass through Safelite. Safelite only had aftermarket glass at the time. From what I could see the only visiual difference was it doesnt say ranger and also theres a little yellow line in the glass that goes in front of the sensor (camera??) on the rear view mirror.

As to if I get sunburned more or if its loauder? I couldnt tell you as I didnt have it long enough to notice. But if you have the option why not go OEM?

My Dealer doesn't do windshields and referred me to a local glass place that does all their windshield replacing. So I got an aftermarket windshield. Looks near factory.

I've had a few windshields replaced, and typically have never been happy with the 'auto glass' places, between goop smeared everywhere and the last one leaking. I had my BMW shield replaced at the dealer, and it was great... luckily my insurance paid for it with no deductible, which I'm sort of surprised with.

Anybody have a weird wavy effect? I noticed it whenever I look towards the passenger direction.
I do have a wavy effect, in fact, I can feel it on outside. Also mysterious 6" circles, faint as they are, that won't come off. Neither bother me.

My guess is those circles are from suction cups when the glass was installed. As to why they won't come off, that's a mystery.

My guess was suction cups, but they don't come off. You can only see them at an angle under indirect sunlight.
