Winch Control Box Relocation

Has anyone relocated their winch control box? I need to move mine, as pugging in the hand controller is difficult and, if I put lights on the bumper, will be impossible. I am thinking about right above/behind the drive headlight, but would like to know what others have done.

Pictures of your location would be greatly appreciated. I have 2 gauge wire coming in the next week or so, which will give me enough to move it. I would like to only do this once, as I have to completely remove the bumper and winch cradle.

589fab makes a bracket the mounts the control box by the battery. I don't know if they sell it separately from the winch mount, but it works great on mine.

Are you talking about this? It appears to only work with Warn, and I have a Smittybilt.

It came with their hidden winch mount. I would think they could send you just the control box bracket. Here is the link to the mount, but they don't show the bracket.

oh yeah, that would be perfect. I will check with them. That's the location I was thinking of too.
