the other features is why... yes the suspension does suck its to damn soft and bouncy but we get all the offroad goodies that the other trim models do not get the only option the other trim models can have is to option a locker meanwhile we get the terrain mode and a few other small things that just make it more worth while. on top of that for me i wanted a tremor but nobody could find me one so i got a fx4 and basically built a tremorNot trying to be a dick, just curious why someone would pay more for this despite, it seems, a lot of FX4 owners on here immediately paying $500-2000 to swap out/upgrade the suspension.
This! I do use the terrain modes and I'll admit at first I thought they were "gimmicky". But after using them up in Sedona they really do work great and can help you through some tough obstacles or just keeping good throttle control when set to a low speed.the other features is why... yes the suspension does suck its to damn soft and bouncy but we get all the offroad goodies that the other trim models do not get the only option the other trim models can have is to option a locker meanwhile we get the terrain mode and a few other small things that just make it more worth while. on top of that for me i wanted a tremor but nobody could find me one so i got a fx4 and basically built a tremor
i like this response the best lmaoBecause we can.
Do explain this tremor build? Kinda was my goal but went with Bilsteins on all four corners and global leaf springs. The fox’s seem really nice but pricey and a bit more maintenance that I wanted to do with rebuilding them. Looked at tremor leaf springs and the global ranger springs seemed like a good compromise. I would definitely like to test drive a tremor but I’ve yet to ever see one or hear about one being sold in my area.the other features is why... yes the suspension does suck its to damn soft and bouncy but we get all the offroad goodies that the other trim models do not get the only option the other trim models can have is to option a locker meanwhile we get the terrain mode and a few other small things that just make it more worth while. on top of that for me i wanted a tremor but nobody could find me one so i got a fx4 and basically built a tremor
in short i added some things to make it similar to a tremor. instead of fox i went with the eibach kit and tbh its okay i would have rather saved up and gotten fox 2.5s all the way around (yes i know the tremor comes with 2.0s i just prefer the 2.5s) after that i got aftermarket wheels from method to get the stance i was wanting and then instead of getting the i think stock 265s that the tremor has i went up to a 275 so its not exactly a tremor but i made my truck be like one soooorta lol i still need new leafs unsure if ill get oem tremor leafs or save up and get a set of deavers but thats a bit out on the listDo explain this tremor build? Nice, yeah can’t go wrong with Deavers from everything I’ve read. Tires will be my one of my next changes and I’m thinking I’ll go with the stock tremor sized tire on my STX wheels. I’d like to go a bit bigger but driving 70 miles a day for work makes me think the stock tremor size would be fine for mileage purposes. Other than that I may try an 87 tune to help transmission shifting in the future. That’ll be the extent of upgrades other than very minor ones.in short i added some things to make it similar to a tremor. instead of fox i went with the eibach kit and tbh its okay i would have rather saved up and gotten fox 2.5s all the way around (yes i know the tremor comes with 2.0s i just prefer the 2.5s) after that i got aftermarket wheels from method to get the stance i was wanting and then instead of getting the i think stock 265s that the tremor has i went up to a 275 so its not exactly a tremor but i made my truck be like one soooorta lol i still need new leafs unsure if ill get oem tremor leafs or save up and get a set of deavers but thats a bit out on the list
2021 was the 1st year of the Tremor package. It was and still is harder to get than any of the other 4X4 packages.Tremor wasn't available in 2021 when I ordered mine.
ya my buddy has a 62 swap on his tacoma with a set of deavers and 14" fox smoothies and it rides really nice the main reason for my want for them is when i finally sell my overland trailer i plan to buy a gfc and ill need leafs that will support more weight then stock but i dont want it to lift the rear of the truck and deaver has an option so it will improve ride and payload a bit and not lift the vehicle.Nice, yeah can’t go wrong with Deavers from everything I’ve read. Right on, yeah I saw that the Deavers had a heavier duty spring with a higher load rating. That will be a nice setup.ya my buddy has a 62 swap on his tacoma with a set of deavers and 14" fox smoothies and it rides really nice the main reason for my want for them is when i finally sell my overland trailer i plan to buy a gfc and ill need leafs that will support more weight then stock but i dont want it to lift the rear of the truck and deaver has an option so it will improve ride and payload a bit and not lift the vehicle.
265s will look good a lot of members here run that size and have no issues with them and keep good mpg i chose 275s since i didnt want a 265 to small and didnt want a 285 for its weight or really needed a 33 so i went for the middle lol
id like to tune mine but ill prob wait awhile and do all my other stuff i want done before i tune my truck
yup yup ill have to call and talk to them when it comes time since they heavy load ones are for people with 500lbs they constantly have with them... i wont have that lol it would be a gfc on the back and then a dual sport once and awhile when i take it places so ill have to ask which set of leafs is best for my purposeRight on, yeah I saw that the Deavers had a heavier duty spring with a higher load rating.
