Same here in Vegas. They save your dashboard.I originally ordered a dashmat and was unhappy with the fit. Auto Anything wanted those ridiculous fees for a return so I complained via a chat session and they gave me full credit. It’s worth a try.
I ended up getting the molded one from CAR ID because AA could not get it for the Ranger. Mine does not have that flap on the front. The description is Coverking® - Molded Carpet Charcoal Custom Dash Cover.
By the way, I have been using Dash Covers for a long time here in Phoenix and they have protected very well. The dash in my 18 year old Mustang is like new.
Yes. Much improved over uncovered dash reflections. BUT, it really depends on the type of material and color.Do these reduce glare on the winshield at all?
I was concerned about this too. The advice I got was that the darker the cover, the less glare. I can't imagine even a light colored dash cover causing any significant glare when using a non-shiny carpet, suede, or velour material. You can see in my photos that the only reflections are on the lower part of the windshield and are produced by the exposed vents and pre-collision indicator panel.Do these reduce glare on the winshield at all?
I wonder if they have one for the Tremor? I have a switch pod in the middle of the dash instead of the indentation.Took some pictures. It is a Coverking custom molded dash cover for the Ranger.
Jess,Thank-you to the guys on this thread who helped me recently decide on a molded cover-king dash cover for my 19' Ranger. Here's my experience and pics so far with the cover. I was hoping the mat was actually one hard molded piece that went on the dash, but it is a soft cover that comes rolled up. From the pics you can see it does fit pretty well..... and that I customized it a bit to make it mine.
When I got it, I took it to a local Orlando embroidery shop to have the "Sport 4x4" sticker mimicked / embroidered onto my Dash Cover. I asked them to make the shading on the word "Sport" blue to match my truck. (and to match the TDY Vinyl letters I put in the Ranger above the glove box).... Next, I asked them to give me a Blue Ford logo in a color that matched my truck and they obliged on a piece of leather that I sewed into place. (Just as an FYI) I've had embroidery like this done at a hat store called Lids, but wanted a bit more detail this time. Total embroidery cost was about $60 for the custom work.
As far as the cover goes, it fits well but there are a few things that look really cheap about it. First, the trim edging should be smaller and lay flat. I actually used a cool iron to get it to lay down but I feel it's cheaply done.... Next, I see by the pictures that you all posted (and in mine) that there are several places where the cover "humps" up and does not lay flat...(lol sorry, can't think of any other word). (See Pics). I am hoping someone here can tell me if they velcro'd theirs down in those additional places and if it worked. I bought extra velcro but worry about it damaging the dash over time. (Your experience/comments are appreciated).
You should be OK. I live in a hot dry desert area and we get a lot of heat. The cover will insulate the extreme heat from the dash. I have touched my dash cover several times after the Truck had been sitting in the heat several hours without a sunshade and it was only warm to the touch, not at all hot@Orange...... Thank-You.... I will try the velcro that came with the dash mat. You are 100% right, I need to push it down a bit and wee if it helps. Hoping that the Florida sun doesn't bake the velcro on lol.
