It's not that I'm not a truck guy. To the contrary I've always loved driving trucks and SUVs and I don't intend to ever go without one. It's just that most trucks aren't "dream car" material for me, you know? It's less about the truck for me and more about what I can do with the truck.

I like exploring in the wilderness, camping, and I build mountain bike trails on the weekend. A 4x4 pickup makes doing all of those things a lot easier. It also doesn't hurt that its loaded with tech and looks good enough that I shine it up for date night. My mustang will sit and look pretty for as long as I can keep it, but my truck will rack up miles and get sold as someone's beater when I'm done with it.
I love both trucks and cars so much, they're really just two sub-categories of my all-encompassing love for automobiles (except for the Honda Ridgeline, f**k the honda ridgeline). I find great satisfaction the raw power & utilitarian drive-over-anything ruggedness of a good truck. I also envy the quickness, steering feel and rigid cornering of a good sports car.

For me, the Ranger gives allows me both the utility of a truck and the sportiness of a RWD sedan (to an extent that I can live with), which makes it the highest Smiles Per Gallon vehicle I've ever owned.

I will say though, that by following through with buying a (real, body-on-frame) truck, we are automatically truck guys. People who aren't truck guys would be turned off by the idea of having a truck in the first place, let alone have the enthusiasm to participate on its forums...

Ford would be the '67 Shelby Cobra GT500.

Non-Ford would be one of these.

In a heartbeat.

My uncle has a 67 911 with a whale tail in red. He bought it new. He calls it the cop magnet!

No question my favorite non Ford vehicle is the 67 big block Vette coupe with the Stinger hood and sidepipes. I had 3 Vettes back in that day a 69 coupe 350, 70 big block Motion Performance Vette and a 71 LS5 big block. They were all pretty crappy and rode like crap but they were Corvettes. I tinkered so much back in those carb car days that now I don't want to be near them.

That one is a 67 split window with a 427, dual quads, 1/2 cam, headers and glass pack side pipes. The drum brakes from factory is what made that a ride to remember. In its day not many could touch that setup stock. My oldest sisters boyfriend was a certified mechanic for them. I got to try so many but this one is what I would pick for sure!

Great choices....my first car when I started driving in 1974 was that 69 GTO Judge on bottom in Carousel Red. Paid $1500 for it with 20K miles. It was a fun fast ride for a 17 year old back then and got me in big trouble. That was the first year radar came out and I got 21 point in tickets my first 2 years of driving and lost my license for 2 months. After the Judge had a 1973 Formula 400 Firebird in between a few of the Vettes. GM back in those days but liked the Pontiacs. My GT500 now is just so much quicker than those Muscle Cars and they were fast for those days. But I loved that Muscle car era of the late 60's and early 70's cars......

Motion had some stuff back in the day. Just don't quite get the publicity of the Yenko's. I would gladly take a 69 Yenko Camaro.

FYI, there is no such thing as a 67 Split Window Coupe. The Split Window was a one year only thing in 1963.
