What is the electrical noise the Ranger keeps making when it's off?

I couldn't find anything about this but I'm not sure what the search term would be.

The truck makes electrical-ish adjustment noises when it's off. Usually five minutes after shutting it off. I was in the garage today and the truck made the noise twice...and I hadn't started it since yesterday! Another time I took a nap in the truck and it kept making it and from inside I could hear a sorta "ba-dum" note coming from the speakers as well. No wonder I've had two dead batteries already. Truck never shuts up!

If you are in the truck with the key in the ignition but turned off, it makes even more noises. It's aliiiiiiive...............

its prepping itself to be started, or shutting down items.

just tell yourself its talking to you, and feel free to talk back.

I told it to shut up! And if it does it again it's getting the back of my hand!

It shouldn't be making noises a whole day after being run.

The explorer loaner I had did the exact same thing. I'd say it's normal for Ford but not sure what it is at all.

Yeah, these trucks make all kinds of weird noises when you get close to them.

I want to install a battery disconnect, but not sure if that would screw anything up?

but it does.
it has to keep the HPFP primed for the next start, which is why you often hear it when you unlock your doors and get in.

turn off all the auto updates as well....if it's searching for a connection to connect then its going to wake up as well

That's pretty lame it has to prime all the time. Maybe that's why when I turn the key it doesn't start until a second later? And why would it come through the speakers too? Not isolated I guess.

Auto updates are turned off and I turned off Bluetooth, in case it's from trying to connect to my phone when I'm nearby.

I had a 2008 Triumph Sprint ST motorcycle that would make that 'AOL-Fax Machine Dial up' sound after shut off. It was the PCM unit resetting itself with additional sound effects. Triumph reportedly patented their trademark 'burble-pop' the modern triples are famous for. (stock image)

Girls make weird noises when I get close to them too, especially if they're strangers.

If you‘re worried about battery drain, a better idea is to connect it to a trickle charger.
