What is the electrical noise the Ranger keeps making when it's off?

If your not aware...every Ranger comes with it's own resident gnome. Strange sounds are just them moving around in the hidden spaces in your truck.
Loud noises or sounds are just a result of your own gnome inviting others over to party.....

I had the furry version of the gnomes and flushed them out with peppermint extract and capsaicin wire harness tape. Ate my battery tender plug and had to resolder my headlight wires...

You thought that YOU owned that truck because of all the money you spent. Ford still controls the truck, mapping everything that you do and collecting data. Soon you will have to pay a monthly subscription to drive it. And you thought that all those trinkets and do dads that came with your car were free.
In Tucson when gas prices got to high for the youngsters, instead of cruising speedway they parked in a parking lot and showed their cool stuff. Last night I saw some whimpy guys in the Bashas parking lot showing some young floosies their tail gate dampers.
Hey dude, lets go over to the Safeway and see whats up over there. I cant drive only 10 more miles or I will be over my subscription this month. ??

I had that same bike in wine red. Absolutely loved that motorcycle!
I also owned a Tornado Red 2001 ST and a 2015 Caspian Blue Trophy SE before I stopped riding in 2018. Hoping to ride again once my health improves and family crises are put to rest......

You should be happy you don't now a Toyota vehicle! Their keep-alive does all sorts of things, long after you lock the vehicle.

There are several things going on. The low-pressure fuel pump operates when you open the door. The purge system continues to operate for a few minutes too. And as the engine cools, water from the overflow tank gets sucked back into the cooling system. Just normal things.

I forgot what the color was called but Tornado Red sounds right. Great motorcycles, that three cylinder engine is wonderful!

My dealer has a non-current, brand new Crystal White 2017 Tiger Explorer XR 1200 that I'm in love with (and many others). Maybe one day.... 50 year rider with one major accident (at 16yo).... (stock image)

I was laying underneath mine when i first got it , knocking on things and pulling on others and then the damn thing scared the crap out of me when that "prepare for lift off" sequence started ... havent had a reflex test in a while but i did get out from under there pretty quick.

Can't go there with you. I honestly hate the adventure tourers. Certainly respect everyone's opinions and preferences but those bikes aren't for me.

Toyota used to use (probably still does) a full-time evaporative emissions control system. If left outdoors, fuel does vaporize in the hot weather. The canister supposedly holds those vapors, and lets the engine burn them when you first start up.

Others leave the radiator fans connected to the battery, and use a thermometer to control them.

Way back when, MB used an oil cooler/pump to keep the turbos happy.

Lots of other crap too, I suspect.

Mine makes a lot of noises too.
I can park it, do so.e fiddling around i. The garage, and its like it talks to me.
Buzzes, high pitch sound, actuator actuating, so.........
Drive down an alley with the windows down and radio off. Same noises. But i have come to hear all this as normal.

Is my Ranger an Autobot or Decipticon??

In reference to that sound you're hearing, I keep waiting for someone to enter my garage and then I will open the driver side door.
As the sound is happening I'll say "before they went into warp I transported the whole kit 'n' kaboodle into their engine room... where they'll be no tribble at all." ? ?
