What is an accurate timeline for new orders?

In late March 2021 I called my local dealer to order a 2021 Ranger SCREW 4x4 Lariat in cyber orange. Official order was placed the first week of April. Original delivery was supposed to take place in late July. That got bumped to September then November. When it didn't arrive in November I was beyond pissed. After considerable delays I was finally losing my patience around Jan 1 of this year. I had been having discussions with the dealership GM and he proactively ordered another Ranger for me. Fortunately, my original Ranger arrived on Jan 15. Meanwhile, the dealership has another Ranger on order for me (they changed the color after my original Ranger arrived). Today I received notice it is built and ready for shipping.

I waited from April 15, 2021 to Jan 15, 2022 for the original Ranger
The replaced Ranger was ordered on Jan 8, 2022 and ready for shipping with an estimated delivery date of March 31 to April 6. I won't be taking delivery of this Ranger, I already have two. I still have my 98 Supercab plus the 2021 SCREW. This one will be available on the dealer lot I assume.

I ordered mine on 4/9 (Ford accepted on 4/20). I received the window sticker on 6/1, it was built by 6/30. It was delivered to the dealer on 8/22. I received it 8/27 (the longer shipping time was due to a work stoppage at the port where the rail cars are unloaded and loaded onto transport trucks). If not for the work stoppage, the dealer would have received it by 8/1.

Can someone tell me what "accepted" means? I ordered a '23 on 8/24 and received an email from Ford the next day saying my order has been "confirmed". I'm assuming "confirmed" and "accepted" are not the same thing. Thanks.

Ask your dealership if Ford approved the COVP yet.
The email from Ford to you doesn't mean the dealership did COVP.

Honest dealer. My dealer told me 6 to 8 weeks. I've been waiting over 6 months.

Just checked with my dealer. He said my order did go through COVP and was approved the same day.
