Again, it isn't about the fluid. ULV is a very stout fluid all things considered. It is about getting the contaminants OUT of the transmission.
here is a link to a drain and fill spreadsheet from an ambitious gent posted on BITOG . Need lots of ULV to get rid of all those contaminants. Similar to motor oil changes where some pick a mileage number to do a change (every 3k), whether or not the ATF really needs to changed at 30k miles is highly dependent on the way a vehicle is operated. Not in my current plans.

"If I can't get it all I'm just not going to do it"

Sure, go with that.

You're getting more out than you think.

Also, I'm not holding a gun to anyone's head, I've clearly stated that what I do is probably excessive, and then posted what I think is reasonable. No need to argue over an opinion, you do you, its your truck.

I stand by my assessment that Fords 150k change is completely unreasonable and the trans should be serviced much sooner.

By changing the fluid every 10k, I am essentially getting a complete (93%, close enough) exchange every 30K. Sure, it uses a little more fluid and it is an extra step, but I bought the PPE pan and MBS stick for a reason.

Wow..... I really thought that my question was clear. How much does it cost, not should I! ;)
I'm sorry, but your thread is being hijacked, please step away from the computer and no one will get hurt:lipssealed:

Why do you want to change the fluid and filter?
It's not part of the maintenance schedule and there's no correlation between changing fluid and the longevity of our transmissions. Total waste of money IMO.
it will make the longevity of the trans last a very long time.... fluid does wear out , just like motor oil trans fluid get full of dirt and contaminants, how often do you do you oil in the truck/

I can see it done at every 50K, that sounds reasonable. But somewhere on this forum, someone stated they do it at every 10K, which is excessive IMO.
every 30k is the best i seen on trans over the years ...

I have a new to me 2020 with 65k miles and no transmission issues. I want to change the trans fluid and filter. I got a phone quote from a reputable transmission place for $500 and the mashed potato that answers the phone at the dealer says $250 and does doesn't understand what I am talking about when I say that is not what I want. What did you pay?
Got mine dropped and the pan changed for a metal one for 400, pan cost 150.

So here is how it went. I took it to Greenway ford in orlando. I made an appointment. I planned to wait. Price on the phone was $420. Price in the driveway was $450. Price out the door $485. When I got there at 8am I was told it was an all day job. (I had a job 30 years ago doing this. I know how long it takes). They sent me home in an Lyft. At noon he calls and says since it is such a big job they gotta keep it overnight. I took a Lyft back to get it on day 2. The inside of the truck had oil spots on the arm rest and steering wheel. The underside of the truck was wet with transmission fluid. Probably just from the spills taking the pan down, but the drips were not even wiped off. But it is done.
