What did you do to your Ranger today?

This is more of a what have I done over the past couple of days instead of just today...

Installed the stubby antenna

Installed a cargo net

Installed the tailgate dampener

Trying out a dash mat, unsure how I like it, still working on getting it laid flat and whatnot. Helps reduce the reflection from the dash. Undecided on if I'll keep it after the tint.

Got it tinted and gave it a quick bath

Designed and printed some tow hook covers because I don't like the chrome tow hooks.

Bonus from last week, Intercooler, charge pipes, and air/oil separator

The damper had to go on as I couldn't just stare at it and wait, fun stuff is tomorrow though. Downpipe and cat-back happening tomorrow. Excited to finally hear the little 2.3 roar instead of a clutch fan lmao. That'll probably be it for a while, gotta start saving for the next things I want.

Tailgate dampers here are a right of passage here on Ranger5G. That should have been the final reveal. I saw your hook covers over at the other place. I like that. XLT, so mine came black but I put quite an effort into blacking out everything I could.

I figured you'd be happy about the damper lol. I know you asked about it on my introduction post a while back. I was originally planning to black out everything as well, the OEM chrome package this truck came with is just too much chrome. Now with the things I've done I feel like it's more well balanced and I don't totally hate it as much.

I like my covers though, I didn't think they'd be so controversial.

They work with or without with the blind spot system. They also are direct plug in for factory LED tail lights and come with an adapter cable for factory halogen tail lights.

put it up on jack stands, removed the passenger UCA and found out that RPG sent me the wrong spacers. They did reply to my email today saying that they sent me the wrong spacers and will overnight me new ones but… now I have to wait 3 days to get the truck put back together.

I put the ranger back together tonight, with all the old parts. RPG overnighted me the misalignment spacers but… they sent the wrong ones. Again.
They’re overnighting the right ones (I convinced them to send a whole set of the right ones so I know they’re all correct) but I need my truck for the weekend. I had to cancel my scheduled alignment and will upgrade the truck next week.

Took delivery of a new plate. I saw Michigan SOS has legacy plates. Since I’ll be switching vehicles, I wanted a different looking plate so I went with the “Great Lake state” plate that is black with white blocky text. It was originally issued in 79-83. I didn’t customize it or anything as I hate paying more money for funds for “road maintenance” that never happens plus what am i even gonna say .

I really hate the modern Michigan plates with the “pure Michigan” logo on it. Next vehicle will be a dark green so I’d think it will look nice on it. But currently it is on the ranger.
