Dropped mine off at the bodyshop after a round of hail damage last week. Hope they get it back good as new.

Man! I hate that for you!!!!

The night after I brought my beautiful truck home from the dealer, a hail storm warning went out.
On the roof; a packing quilt weighted down with two brand new Goodyear performance tires. On the windshield; two floormats from my old Ford Explorer. On the hood; a plastic tarp secured to the hood with a fitted sheet. I was so glad there wasn't any damage the next day. Just a bunch of wet stuff and two tires filled with water!

Just heard from the body shop, they shattered the back windshield while working so they will have to hold it longer in order to get it all fixed. Hope they tint it back too as I had 20% all the way around on it.

And for those that asked. This was the hail that hit.

It only hailed for less than 2 minutes but it sure did some damage.
Josh,
Those are big stones! Hail has incredible power and can sound treacherous. I have heard 1/4" hail hit my skylights and even they sounded like steel balls pounding it. I thought the roof was going to come through, but no damage. Hope the repair is done with quality and comes out to your satisfaction.

Yesterday, I opted to have the left rear panel below the bumper repainted instead of touched up...I'm particular about the cosmetics on the Truck. I got some outrageous estimates at some paint and body shops here in the city. Then I checked with another one that has a great reputation and good reviews. Their estimate was down to earth: $100.00, and they did a good job.

How did the scratch occur? I pulled the Truck into the garage and didn't get it in quite far enough. The inside of the garage door clipped a section on the outside of the rear bumper rubber leaving a cut about 1/16" deep; and also left a scratch in the paint on the panel just below the rubber bumper about 1" long and 1/8" wide. Fortunately, the bumper was not dented, only scratched. I not going to do any repair to the bumper rubber itself because it is almost impossible to get a touch up pen, filler or paint to match its color. A color that does not match will stand out more than just leaving the cut like it is. The shop matched the color of the paint with the right rear panel perfectly. I'm attaching before and after photos of this...

If it were me the gash in the plastic would bother me now.

I'd have either let it be, or fix it all, no middle ground.

Paint looks great.

PS: But it was the 1/2" hail that damaged my roof several years ago and had to be replaced. The damage was not recognizable by me, but the estimator pointed out some spots where you can see vague pits with some small lines in them when you look closely. He said these places would start to deteriorate and cause the shingles to become unstable.

My Ranger got new oil and oil filter installed today. It is relatively easy to do, but those stupid plastic screw inserts that hold the wheel well insert in place over the filter access, are not one of Ford's, better ideas. I spent more time jacking with those than any thing else. This is the 2nd oil change, now at 8000 miles.

Orange streak,

When it came down, I was not far away in my work truck and it sounded like someone was throwing bricks at me. No real warning or lead up to it at all, just rain and then golf balls/lemons started falling everywhere.

Oddly enough the work truck survived without a dent, as did my 99 ranger.

Ordered the Ranger Gatorback mudflaps today. Of course I had to spend the extra money to get the ones with the Ranger metal plates on them.

I am good at spending excess money on two things, the truck and golf equipment.

We bought one of these from Tractor Supply Co. for each auto. Takes the guess work out of parking.

Received the LED side markers to replace the one that broke trying to get it to fit into the Bushwacker flares. Had to do quite a bit of grinding on the markers and the flares to get them to fit; the markers are straight while the pockets on the flares are tapered. Regardless, got everything put together and now I want wider tires.

Well...finally got my RC level kit (2.5") installed and new tires. Went with the Duratrac 265/70/17. Oh man...completely different truck. Also, I installed the Aeroskin hood deflector/bra a few weeks ago but forgot to post it... did a little modification on it by spraying bedliner material on it.
