Rumors were floating around that the '25 Maverick will offer a SCAB. Guess we'll find out Thursday.
Wow. If so then it will be on my list for the next vehicle. After we finish our retirement house and move, then I won't really need my ranger. But, if the Mav also offered real 4x4 with a scab, then that would be better.

Well, going over the replies, we all seem to agree - a. that I did the right thing, b. that I did the wrong thing, or c. I did what I did.
So, for background: I traded in a 2019 Lariat FX4 with 16000 miles. That's many, many trips to Lowes or Home Depot, several trips to area nurseries, a round-trip DC to PGH, and anything that required highway speed and not much parking. My Mazda 2 is quite capable and parks anywhere. But, I felt the Ranger was sometimes the better choice. Interior on the Mav is a lot of plastic, but at this price point, that's expected. And, Ford made sure that regularly touched surfaces were soft-touch. As far as size - if you look at the numbers, the foot print is not that much smaller than the Ranger, but the Mav is closer to my 2010 Ranger. It also drives and feels like a bigger truck. All in all, the Mav just made a lot of sense for my needs. Bonus selling points were no tailgate damper, a sun roof, and a power rear window. And, I can see the top of the roof and reach into the bed. As noted, we'll see how it works out.

I was going to buy a Maverick in 2022 but got to the dealer on the same day that the 4K tow package was no longer available. I then got the Ranger and love it!

But ... the Maverick would have been nice. Easier to get in and out of, able to reach into the bed, nice infotainment screen, great gas mileage. And it would have been big enough for our kayaking.

And, while the bed is much smaller than my scab, that would have only meant more dump trips! And there's nothing wrong with more dump runs! =p

Good luck @Lone and keep us informed on how you like it! =)
The big downside for me is the Maverick doesn't come in a Scab... :frown:

We each buy to fill our needs, and your buying a Mav fits your needs, and I see no downside to your choice.
I'll be one who, if I didn't need a certain size truck to tow our trailer, and didn't need a larger truck, I'd still have my 2009 Ranger with it's standard cab. It was a great little daily driver and a fun truck to take to cruise-in's.
And if the Mav came in a Scab style, I'd even think about getting one as a fun-a-round daily driver....a 2 wd in a street version would be fun.
So, have fun with your Mav....no downside to it for your needs.

I took my mom's Escape into the dealership yesterday for a door recall. While there I perused the few Mavericks there. Damn nice truck. Seems about the size of the 4G models, but a whole lot more creature comforts.
They had a few Mavs, but still no 6G Rangers on the lots:crying:.

Why Thursday? Is that the reveal day for '25 model line up?
What about '25 Ranger, and news on option changes?

One of the things that nudged me into a 2024 were the pictures of the 2025 front end. What were they thinking? :frown:
Front grill looks like they made it out of a bunch of left over drawer pulls.....

The reason I use the specific profile pic, is exactly for these reasons lol. The expression explains it perfectly.

Had my Maverick for several weeks now and been traveling to some acreage we just closed on a few hours out of town. I find the seating more comfortable and really love the hybrid mileage. Was a great change for me but everyone has different needs.
