I fielded a panic phone call from our handicapped daughter in Troy Michigan. Her garage door opener was beeping. I was puzzled as the opener, to my knowledge, cannot beep...it is a base model Genie.... She was so sure and positive it was beeping. So researched the model as I had installed it about 5 years ago. No beeping. Puzzled and her in a painc, I told her to close the door between the garage and the house and forget about it until tomorrow.... Then it dawned on me...we had a smoke detector problem a day or so early and I ordered in new smoke detectors which my buddy installed, thankfully and my daughter threw the old detectors out, batteries still installed in the garage trash bin. Turns out the beep was the old detector in the trash...Daughter dug through the trasn (yuk!) and removed the batteries from both detectors....All is quiet. Sheesh...
