What car/truck are you replacing with the new Ranger?

Not really a replacement, but an addition to my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer Premier (8 cyl.) that has 120,000 original miles. Keeping the Mountaineer as my slider vehicle. Has been well maintained (plus rebuilt transmission last year, new brakes and rotors front and & back last Fall), no rust and worth more to me than what I'd get book value if I sold it. MPG on the 8 cyl. (but still get 16 combined and 21 on the highway) not really a concern to me since I drive less than 6,000 miles per year these days.

Not as comfy or practical as my new Ranger, but it was a great truck. I miss the extra interior space, but not the added wheel base or being over 20 feet long. Being able to deactivate the seat-belt warning-dinger is also a great factory feature.

Replaced a 2020 Wrangler Rubicon. I've been in a long term relationship with Ford but had an affair with Jeep. Had a lot of fun but she was a little too childish for me ---> back to Ford.

Moved from a 2014 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid. Loved the car but needed to be able to haul "stuff" occasionally for misc home chores and a woodworking hobby. When I bought the Accord in 2014 I originally set out to get a pickup but quickly realized there was no way a four door cab would fit in the garage; a requirement.

No midsize trucks at that time were of any interest but when the Ranger came back, I was intrigued. Neighbor a few doors up got a 2019 and had him test fit it in the garage - a winner! Now five days in, one garage rearrangement later (beer fridge relocation), and she rests comfortably there now. Not sure why I waited so long.

The most unfortunate part is that I went from a vehicle that could easily get 50mpg around town to one less than half that. And at a time when fuel prices are spiking again . Oh well, loving the Ranger so far!

2008 Explorer Sport Trac that I got new. Was going to try and limp through another year with it but with 212,000 miles it was showing signs of a blown head gasket and not worth fixing. So far it looks like the Ranger will save about $100 a month on gas so that will partly offset the payments.

Replacing this old dog. A 1999 Mazda B4000 (Ranger in disguise).
It has the 4.0 V6 with 5sp manual, 4x4 and 4 doors. I've only had it for 2 years. It's still a strong
runner, just time for something new. Before the B4000 I had a 1995 F150 Extended Cab with the 5.0. It had 360,000 miles when I retired it.

This brought back memories. I owned a 1999 B4000 4X4 Forest Green that I traded in for a 2011 Ranger. Both great trucks. I traded in the 2011 for my 2020 and like it even better than the 2 former ones ?

I only had the B4000 for 2 years, but it's a fun drive. I bought it from a co-worker for $800. It hadn't been driven for 2 years because of a cracked radiator. I put in about 2,000 in work to get it fixed, including : radiator, battery, fuel pump, wheel bearings, upper and lower control arms, O2 sensors,
fixed a vacuum leak in the upper intake, replaced rear speed sensor, complete brake job on the rear, removed PVH and installed AVM manual hubs and added a Kenwood Double DIN. The clear coat is pealing and needs a bit of body work.

I haven't sold it yet as I gave my brother 1st choice. Selling the B4000 will save me a whole $4 in insurance. I haven't decided on an asking price or whether to keep or sell.
