One of my all time favorite bands! This was the Rolling Stones show in England where Skynyrd opened for them. Mick told Ronnie not to walk out on The Tongue which of course Ronnie did anyways. They stole the show from the Stones and rumor has it Mick was so pissed he delayed coming out for 2 hours. lol

I saw Van Halen smear the Rolling Stones in the Super Bowl in New Orleans around 1977 ..

I'm in my Southern Rock mood lately and (IMHO) Blackfoot really was an underrated band. They might not have as many top hits as the other Southern Rock bands but they have some really great songs. This one ranks right up there with Freebird & Green Grass and High Tides as all-time great Southern Rock anthems.

I dig Blackfoot, one of the most successful American Indian rock bands in history.

Recently they have taken 102.5 Mad Rock off the air. So I am currently listening to 101.9 KBUS out of the Paris, TX area when I am near or at the house and once I get through Savoy, TX heading for Sherman, I listen to 92.5 out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Two different Classic Rock stations to make up for the loss of one. Welcome to my world lol.

I suspect it's for everybody, but SiriusXM has been enabled in my truck until June 1st.

Not that I ever listen to it, but I do like to use the free days to try it again and remind myself why I don't have it.

They are one of the MOST persistent subscription hunters I have ever encountered, with near constant letters in the mail, emails, and phone calls.

The last time they called me after a trial they offered me a year at $50.

SiriusXM: You can get all the great programming you love for only a bit over $4 a month!

Me: But I don't listen to it.

SiriusXM: But at only $4 a month you would probably listen to it and love it!

Me: If I don't listen to it when it's free, why would I pay $4 a month to continue not listening to it?

SiriusXM: But the best rate is normally $120 per year! You're saving $70 per year!

Me: Why don't I save an additional $50 a year and not buy it at all?

SiriusXM: Thank you for your time. Have a nice day.

I've had Sirius since I bought the 5G in 2021. For me it's worth it, can't hold an FM station well enough my whole commute even though it's only about 25 miles. I like channel 125 and Fox News, Hair Nation and the comedy channels keep me awake on long trips.
I am actually saving a good chunk of money because after my free trial with the 6G, I get put on a cheap initial plan for like 6 months.

Therein lies probably the biggest rub for myself concerning SiriusXM.

I only drive about 6k miles per year so I don't have long drives or spend a lot of continuous time in the truck.

When I am in the truck I either listen to the music on my phone or the free version of Pandora.

I tried the free Spotify, but their algorithm picked songs from way out there and rarely suggested something I actually liked. That and the 2 songs/3 commercials wore thin quickly.

The free Pandora gives plenty of music that I actually like and nowhere near the commercials of Spotify.

I'm sure the paid version of Spotify would be much better, but then that would require me to pay for it 🤪

I cancelled my SiriusXM a couple years ago because all the stations became repetitive. Hair nation might as well be called the Tesla station and they just rotate the same songs day and night. Now I listen to the (free) iHeart radio app which has just as much if not more that Sirius does. The Oultlaws channel has a ton of great Southern rock bands and then there's several 80's & 90's stations to chose from along with local stations from across the country.

Funny because my USPS Informed delivery shows another SiriusXM special coming today. lol

To prepare me for the free week of XM, I received an email and a text every day for 3 days before it started today.

Took the truck out today at lunch.

Did NOT try SiriusXM for free because I either forgot or don't care.

Not sure which.

And actual music that I'm listening to right now.

Sirenia is one of my favorite symphonic rock groups and this is from an upcoming album.

It was OK at first but is growing better on me.

I just don't care anymore.

I did the same and told them to stop calling because I'll never purchase it again unless it's free. They're persistent all right (and nice) but after a while I just get annoyed and hang up because nothing will change my mind when I don't see value in something. Plus like you I only drive around 6K a year and I'm not driving long enough to get use out of it.

Yeah, you have to change it up music wise due to potential repetitiveness. Good thing they have a lot to choose from.
Another benefit is you can use their app on your phone and get all the content for no extra $ wherever you go with cell service or wifi.

As cool as Ram Jam's version of the 1933 original Black Betty is, this version by Spiderbait steps it up a bit.
