Hi all, please direct me to an existing thread on what tools you have in your kit when you go offroad with your Ranger, in case there is one, l couldn’t find any.

Just got a 2022 Roush Ranger and am building a tool kit to carry on offroad trails, what are must have tools for the Ranger? I’ve never owned a Ford so not familiar at all with the basic tools that are vital to have.

thank you for your expertise !

this is a great topic! the search feature on r5g is not so great. its hard for me to find much with it without a hassle. as far as tools and items a few threads are around on the topic. never hurts to start a fresh one. folks will have input based on the use they have for the truck or area etc. some will say phone and triple a is all they need. most road service folks will not do anything off road if your more than about 50 feet. for me a good start is a basic set of wrenches, in the popular metric sizes. many of the parts on the 5g are metric. example : the battery on our trucks come with metric hardware. needle nose pliers for changing fuses or relays and spares of each. electric tape, zip ties. a good shovel. skip the folding shovels and small camp styles. if you have to dig out a tire or two, move some gravel around to get traction or lessen the high center spots a full size shovel is a blessing. the small ones are torture. at least one good recovery rope or strap is a must. a pair of stout gloves. i think of it like if i have to do some sort of recovery or road side fix it will be in the worst situation. truck will be hot, the places i need to reach will be full of sharp pokey stuff or someones broken beer bottle will be where i need to crawl lol. flashlight. my luck things will go bad when its dark. of course stuff to change a tire. technically the trucks come with the jack and lug tool etc. but they suck, i cant stand the scissor jacks. a four way or breaker bar to fit your wheels and a bottle jack are way better than the factory items. if your wheeling in out of the way places or an area you may have to wait for help more items would be on my list.

When you reach 90,000 miles, you'd might need this in your kit...
