You're doing a great job documenting the trip Dave. You've certainly put the Tetons on my radar quickly. Looks like a really fun time.

Does Annie hike with a compression sleeve on her knee? If not...
Thanks Adam. There's really some great sights here and so much to do if you love the outdoors. Yes, she has a compression sleeve she wears but she's fallen several times and has had surgery on her left knee before so it gets aggravated very easily. We might have pushed it a little to much the first two days seeing as it was the first time out hiking this year. We took it easy these last two days because we're heading to Glacier NP tomorrow morning for a week and I need her to be able to hike there. After that we're heading over to South Dakota where she can rest it more. lol

That’s the way to eat. ;)
At least Ranger was safe this time.
It was a perfect spot! But tomorrow we'll be back on the road and eating inside the truck again.

I wanted to let Annie rest her knee another day because we'll be up in Glacier NP late tomorrow for a week. There's a lot of hiking and walking up there and I didn't want her to overdo it our first week. There's a road about a half mile from the main entrance into the park where the Chapel of the Transfiguration sits. There's a lot of history here (more than I thought) and they still hold services on Sunday mornings here too.

They couldn't have picked a better spot to build this with such amazing views.

Such great architecture in this (almost) 100 year old church.

Not to far behind the church is the homestead (1892) of Bill Menor along the Snake River. The buildings were all closed but I got a few good pictures through the windows. All of this is right along the bank of the Snake River and all the building are still in really good shape.

Even back then they figured out how to filter their own water from the river.

These are separate building for the root crops and the smokehouse for the meats.

When you think of it it's pretty amazing how they had to do things back then with no modern machinery.

There was no plaque for this one. I'm guessing this is his version of his classic car collection.?

I have no idea what that is. I was going to reach inside the opening and lift it up but then thought twice about it. All I could think of was that darn creature form Scotts @Scottopia avatar popping out of there! :surprised:

Here's where the plan for the Grand Teton NP all started 100 years ago.

Annie was still so afraid of the bear we saw while hiking. So I asked the park ranger if he could get a few together when we were leaving today. She was greeted by these two friendly guys. ??

You may have found evidence of the first man cave.

Even 100 years ago men were looking for a way to get away from their spouse. :lipssealed::bandit:
