Taking the angle of the pic into account, you have an easy inch, more like 1-1/4".

Curious how you mounted it? did you drill holes?

Yes. Drilled and installed 4 rivnuts. I'm leaving OD green; tacticool.

Looking for the best option in portable heavy duty storage unit, that I can store camping/kayak gear. Maybe leave overnight, so probably tie down with a locking style strap.

Has anyone tried the husky 37” tool box, just wondering how heavy duty this thing is? Could it be easily broken to or stolen out of the truck bed, etc etc! Or any other recommendations, again portable and heavy duty, weather resistant to some extent.

I love these bins, got a couple of each size last summer to organize our camping gear. They stack well and the covers are very secure with all of those latches. Can’t vouch for how watertight they are since I use mine under a tonneau, but the gasket seal looks pretty good. Unfortunately Home Depot Canada doesn’t seem to stock them anymore, it’s been months since I’ve seen them up here.
