Seriously, how does someone from Alberta know about a MI LeftMy old man use to say “Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do.”
Who here is familiar with the “Michigan left”?

I had this on my f250!!! HahaOld Ford joke:
In 1986, the F-150 was the last vehicle to come with a foot operated dimmer switch. For 1987, it was finaly mounted on the turn signal stalk.
Ford initially received a lot of complaints from customers who were getting their foot caught in the steering wheel...

Rain sensing (automatic) wipers can be turned off in the Settings menu. I have mine off. When on, the little tab changes the sensitivity of the automatic-ness. When off, it changes the frequency of the intermittent swipes. What triggers the auto wipers? Water on a sensor? Find that sucker and cover it up. I guess that Ford decided that some people dont have the good sense to come in out of the rain.![]()
Hi Eli,I had this on my f250!!! Haha

Can you pull the stalk all the way down (no intermittent) and twist the dial down to it's lowest setting to see if that helps? Also does adjusting the steering wheel (telescoping and tilt) can you gain more hand clearance without hindering comfort? Maybe in conjunction with seat adjustments)I could try, but its basically my knuckles hitting the stalk because its 1 inch behind the wheel.
That right there is funnyJason,
Some of us are here to help. There’s an easy solution. Get yourself a good set of side cutters, like these….

…find the wiring harness leading from the wiper control stalk. It’s easy to locate under the column trim piece. Find the black wire with the blue stripe and mark it with electrical tape for reference. Ignore that wire for moment. Now, take the side cutters inside and cut both the power cord and signal input to your modem.
Problem solved, at least for the rest of us.

Born and raised in the mitten.Seriously, how does someone from Alberta know about a MI Left
And now you are in Gods country.Born and raised in the mitten.
Hello,
Is there a way to turn off the wipers? Due to the vehicle's poor design, I wind up hitting the stalk when turning the wheel, activating the wipers. The wipers then stay on, no matter what I do until I turn off the vehicle. When I get back in and go again, the wipers resume right where they left off. Regardless of weather, I'm driving down the road with the wipers on like a goof. According to the manual that shipped with the vehicle, it's easy to disable automatic wipers from the vehicle settings. That's not the case. All I have under wipers is "Courtesy Wipe", (whatever that is), but no off. Do I have to pull a fuse or something?
Thanks in advance
.Yes there is you can push it all the way down till it does the wipe if you hold it and then it let go and it will be on the off positionNo option to switch-off autowipers. Why do they have to be automatic anyway? I can guarantee that if I'm driving the vehicle and it starts to rain, I will turn on the wipers. No need for the vehicle to do it.
Back in 2013 i attended the Ford performance driving school in Utah. We were driving Focus and Fiesta STs. One of the lessons was doing what some call a Rockford, driving fast in reverse and turning the wheel fast to spin the car around and end up going forward. Many of us would hit the wiper lever while trying to do that move. The instructors found it pretty funny that so many of us did it..
So if the wipers will not turn off, take it to the dealer while it is not working properly. I will not question your intelligence as some have done. BTW I didn't see most of them because I ignored that person long ago.![]()
