Tucked up side step

Can you post a pic of the RB20 Slims? I am thinking of changing mine and was looking at the RB10 & RB20 slim models. I wanted something a little more tucked away than my N-Fab Epyx.

I don’t need or use side steps, but my wife is tiny so she needs them. I initially bough these cheap TAC nerf tubes 3 years ago, just as a stop gap until the AMP folding steps could be developed at the time (they weren’t out yet for the Ranger), but the TACs turned out to be keepers. They mount close enough to the truck so that I can overstep them and not get dirty or banged up, but they are far enough out with a flat step surface to give my wife the ability to easily get in the truck. Plus, the cost of the AMP steps at the time, were around $1500. plus installation, and the TAC steps only set me back $140.

I'm in the same boat. My wife and kids need them to get in and out. I just want something a little smaller than what I have currently.

Ohh so clean!!! I struggle with not really needing steps and factory steps being too high, these look just right and tuck up for a super clean look... Just a bit spendy but on my list.

How do you like them?

So far, I like them a lot. 4.5 out of 5 stars after having them installed for a few weeks now. Which surprised me, as I had my heart set on bolt on slider steps, but after deciding to go all in on a Diamondback cover, I had to shuffle my budget downwards elsewhere, so the RB20 Slim was the compromise.

I 'think' that the brackets used for these are the same ones used for the full width RB20. While the boards are adjustable for position in and out, there is a limit to how much they can move in either direction. If I had a 'wish' it would be that the bracket was designed to allow slightly closer/tighter install to the rocker area. (I'd prefer to reduce the gap between the board and the rocker by maybe 1/2" to 3/4")

Second, while it's not a big deal, I think I'd prefer if there wasn't a taper to the boards; that they ran straight parallel from front to back. Functionally it doesn't affect anything being tapered, as the presented surface area for stepping is good/the same with the way I positioned them, but it adds to some of that visual gap at the rear because of the way I have it positioned. (I am fairly certain I would not like the look of taper if I had aligned the board straight to the rocker; but that's entirely personal preference)

Thanks for the info! I'm glad that you are liking them. I'm with you and would like something close to the rocker as well. I also don't want it sticking out too far.

When I bought the ones I have the slims weren't out yet unfortunately. They look really good on your truck and hopefully I am able to justify (key word there) dropping the cash on another set of boards even tho I have a working set.

I looked at those, but between the price, and needing sliders but not knowing how strong they were, I went with the Shrockworks sliders, love them, and as a bonus I can use the hi-lift jack at any point along them to lift the truck. Plus I don't have to worry about electrical issues.

Pull your olds ones off, list them on the exchange. Someone will buy them for sure. Then the cost to switch is reduced greatly.

The AMP power steps are awesome.
There are a couple of threads here.

Use the search Luke ?

You can buy or make a switch to temporarily disable them. I made mine.
When my wife is not with me I use the switch all the time as others have said I don't use the steps when deployed and they are in fact in the way for me. But so where the stock ones.

Seems there is an option for just about everything for the Ranger.

those do look sharp tucked away! i love that the ranger is getting some aftermarket support. sometimes it seems like if it is not a jeep or mustang options are limited.
