I'll get a picture of mine with the gate closed tomorrow. Yours might be higher than mine relative to the gate.

Wouldn't higher make it easier to latch with the gate closed? Not trying to be a smart ass but I figured mine was too low that's why I can't latch the tonneau with the gate up

You are correct, my thinking was wrong, forgive I am an old fart. Here are a couple of additional pictures. Just an added comment, the instructions that came with mine referenced a part for the cab end that is no longer included. I had to call them to find that out.

Hope this helps. Just a comment, it took me more than 30 minutes to install mine.

So I was showing my buddy that I can only close the top with the gate open afterwork today. Then I closed the gate and was pushing on the middle and latch side to show him how it won't click in. He hits the passenger side with his fist and it shuts perfectly.
I've nvr felt so dumb before.
I just assumed I needed to locate my force on the driver side where the latch is. With the gate open the top closes easily from the middle. With the gate closed a fairly light rap on the passenger end engages the latch on the opposite end everytime.

I'm an idiot, I amended the first post. I'd delete this thread but my shame shall live here forever.

So, this style of cover latches only on the driver's side? My Truxedo TruXport latches on both sides.

The latch showing in the pics I posted (latch being the silver lever) is only on left side. The tailgate bar fits in the cradle jus ahead of silver latch.

My LoPro won't latch with the gate up either, even trying the suggestions here.

I have read through these and if anyone is still following, I have a Lo-pro and it fits perfectly, the seal is there, but after just a few routine bumps on the road it becomes unlatched. Anyone have any ideas why?

I have the Lo-Pro also and had mine open a couple times even after the hard latch sound so now I make sure it is latched good and pull up on it after it's closed.

As for why, i don't know. I never noticed if it was from a bump or not.

Yeah, I now hear the loud click of it latching and then lightly bump my hand on top of it to see if it will stay shut and it just immediately comes undone. I have tried playing with the tension to see if thats it but I can't get it figured out.

Are you closing it with the gate open or closed? Mine would never latch with the gate closed but now it does after doing the following.

Roll it up and unlatch it, take it off and put it back on. Maybe that will be enough change for it to adjust the tension.
