That must have been my brother-in-law. ? Canada’s a great place and the rest of us are awesome!

Yeah, it’s early— really early. It happens whenever I travel - different time zone, different bed, and it’s too quiet here.
When do you head back to Upper Canada?

Likely Saturday. I’m going to try and make a detour into Quebec City if the weather is nice - the highway skirts it far to the south, so it requires a side trip. I’ll play it by ear.

I made a small dump run to New London here on PEI this morning - nothing compared to what @subquark would do but I like heading out that way because I get to pass by French River - likely the cutest fishing village around. Today, I stopped to take it in and share it here on the forum.

LOL, as a fellow Canadian, you have the dump flowing in your veins! (gee, that sounds terrible!) =D

What an incredible photo, absolutely beautiful. =)

I heard that hurricane Fiona wreaked havoc on the potato crops, is that true as far as you know?

Hey @Rhino,

Yeah, it’s a lot of fun Jacob. This one is designed as an extension of the highway system (many here are). Instead of having to drive the long way around Lake Huron, it sails to an island at the narrow part of the lake and then you can drive to a point on the island where a bridge joins it to the other shore. This particular situation shaves several hours off the regular route around the lake. Plus there’s the added bonus that it’s really kinda cool. ? The dots on this map show where it crosses.

ooh thats neat plus id imagine it saves that area a bit of money as well since they dont need to build a bridge!

and hey i wasnt to far from there awhile back! i was out near grand rapids for a weekend lol

Fiona caused a lot of problems here. Feed corn got flattened, potato fields flooded, tons of wind damage, cottages washed away from the storm surge, bridges washed out, the list goes on. I have some photos but upload speed is at a crawl right now as the provider is still struggling to get back up after more than two weeks.

This happened to my neighbour - he was building his cottage and staying in the trailer. He was not in it when it tipped. I told him to waive off the small excavator - I have recovery gear and a FFR! ?

The insurance company wrote it off - the holding tanks flowed back inside the unit so it would cost more to gut and rebuild the interior than to buy a new one.

I saw this on the main road - I’m not sure what it is but it might explain my Internet woes.

I haven’t been here since Oct 2019 (COVID) but it’s nice to see all the same old things again. It’s as if True North and I are taking a trip….

No time for that - I was headed to the dump! Besides, he hired the excavator and a skid-steer was on its way.

I also had my own hurricane damage to deal with.…

I have absolutely no doubt that #DukeCanFixIt! =)

At first glance, I thought the other tag was #peestrong, which is a sensitive topic for some of older farts! =D

Good luck to you and all other Islanders! #PEISTRONG!

Well, as Cledus “The Snowman” Snow said, “I’m east bound and down”.

Got a link to your med kit? I need to re-stock my travel med kit. And is the black case with the target anything gun related? Ammo carrier? Cheers Duke

I was in Charlottetown a week and a half ago for work. Lots of neighbourhoods still in the dark.
Keep an eye out for my Redneck Ranger between Gagetown and Fredericton on your return trip

Good luck trying to cross the bridge to Quebec city.
Construction... it's bad, bad, bad....
If you can, take the ferry from Riviere du Loup to saint Simeon.
On the 138 to the 362, through Les Eboulement & Baie St-Paul.
Just awesome but probably add a day to your journey.

Hey Jordan,

You have an eye for quality-made products from a Canadian supplier. They are Nanuk waterproof hard cases, Model 905. I posted about the ammo case in this thread.

First Aid:
https://www.amazon.ca/Nanuk-Waterproof-Prepper-Survival-Resistant/dp/B08L9R1N2S

Ammo Case:
https://nanukcases.ca/products/nanuk-905-waterproof-ammo-case

You can buy them in a lot of places, including Amazon.ca, Walmart.ca, or direct from Nanuk. I posted one link about them to Nanuk, and one to Amazon. I got mine at Amazon, about $75 each.

Edited: Hey @Skav777 , I was just able to post these photos now…

Note: They do not have med supplies or foam inserts. I had those already.

Is your handle related to the movie Oblivion?
