It's that time of year in my neighborhood when sap is falling out of the trees. Does anyone have an idea how to clean tree sap off the truck?

You can try rubbing alcohol, goof off or a clay mitt. All should take it off but rinse good afterwards and re-wax the area as it'll strip the wax off. Also don't rub to hard just blot the area and lightly rub.

Thanks Pete. It's coming along slowly but surely.

Yes the 100 grit was a bit much. Everyone knows you should always start with 320 grit first. ?

I've been considering fostering beavers.

As for the isopropyl I don't think you want it full strength. I think you want a 50/50 with distilled water.

Most are ok to use but a razor blade? :surprised: I guess if you're the type that doesn't care about your paint. Then again if you were you'd probably just leave the sap on it. lol

I dunno man ... taking a sponge or anything like it and doing some "hard" scrubbing is just begging for marks in your clear IMHO. but I agree that most are ok to try. and like you, I lost it at the razor blade thing ... LOL

Use goof-off! Takes off sap, tar and just about anything else like it. Does not hurt the clear coat and doesn’t require a lot of elbow grease. I would wash the spot with soap and water afterwards to remove any residue of cleaner left.
