Transmission work needed at 50,000 per Ford dealer

I guess what I mean by that was 'issues that can be solved without replacing hard parts'.

Kinda right up there with programming or a software relearn.

I got it. But I 'm not sure others got it. I think maybe a note with steps to take before going to the dealer or for a rebuild. The first one being change your fluid, and add Lubeguard. And grease your driveshaft spline slip joint.

If you still add a send bottle. Or Call Lubeguard support for next steps. They have several similar products that all work together. I have not tried them, but I have read of others who solved serious transmission issues following their recommendations with cars that starting having issues early and now had 200K+ miles on them. The risk is under $50 for their products, and the ROI is in the thousands plus lost time. A no brainer from my perspective.

If you still have problems you are out $50 - $150 bucks ( if you change the ATF as well), and it's dealer / shop time.

diagnosis is in for my Ranger. it's not the transmission. it's the "water in the #1 spark plug" issue

Dropped the truck off to the dealer this morning... A week till they have a diagnosis, apparently.

Annoyed that they don't offer a loaner vehicle...

October 2022....I took delivery Dec 2022...

Edit - the dates sounded wierd. Blend date was November not October of 2022.

Per the TSB yours should have the updated CDF drum ( 08/22 and beyond). They still can reflash the trans and if that doesn’t improve things then they will address the valve body ( clean or replace). But for vehicles built after 08/22 the they wouldn’t proceed with the CDF replacement.

If they cleaned/replace the valves I think it would help (I think there are many things causing these issues). And all those problems are all little, but when added up create issues... I've said it before, and ideally if the issue persists I'll consider trading it in...

Would be nice to know what is in the WSM 307-1 that would help solve the issue if the valve cleaning doesn't....

It’s still wonky in the 3-4-5 ranges and is scheduled to go back in about a week and a half to address that ( next step CDF replacement ?). So if if valve clean doesn’t address at least the valve body can be replaced. Beyond that ?????
