Transmission not in Park

So I'm driving home and a message appears on the left side of the dash. Red square requiring on " OK " response. (A 2019 Lariat )
The message is " Transmission is not in park"
Of course I'm driving 45 mph and go "shit I hope not"
Everything is fine, no noise, shifts fine, all is good. Stop at the store and when I leave I notice the gearshift doesn't seem to be positioned right. Says D on the dash but looks like it's in neutral.
Again, running great and gives me the message again. The gearshift clicks in for each gear.

Any thoughts?

I got that same message yesterday, I was driving out of the woods at a slow speed so hit OK and then a message came up my door was ajar. Thought that was why I got the transmission not in park message.

take it a dealer--sounds really easy to duplicate (at least the alignment problem), is definitely not right, and is still under warranty.

Doesn't appear to be. My problem is when I'm driving it says Transmission not in park.

I believe that message appears when you open the door when engine is running and still in gear. This might indicate a defective door switch or a door that's not fully latched.
