There is nothing extra. There are no optional towing gears, cooling system or anything else.
Yep. unlike the Tacoma which has some very nice upgrades that seem to be not needed on the Ranger with better tow number.
Class-IV towing hitch receiver,47 ATF cooler (not available on manual transmission), engine oil cooler, power steering cooler, 130-amp alternator, 4- and 7-pin connector with converter, and Trailer-Sway Control

Why doesn't Toyota just build it right to begin with?

Good question.
I'd like having those upgrades even for not towing.

i really dont have to prove anything

Yet I found the information I seek and if you want it, go ahead and find it yourself. It answered the questions for me and it also states that the OP is out of luck as the caveat on warranty is written and well published. Good luck to him on winning this one, he's going to need it.
Wow...

Yeah, the transmission on the ranger is rated to tow even more on the F150 without an additional cooler (and is just generally better than the one on the tacoma). Power steering is electronic on the ranger vs the hydraulic system on the tacoma. I don't know what the alternator is rated on the ranger; I wouldn't be surprised if it's less than 130A, but that's more an accessory feature than a towing feature.

Not on a ranger.
That’s right. That’s why the package is “only” $500. On the Ranger it’s just the 7

The dealers I worked with Cowles, Koons and Ted Britt, all originally had Rangers that didn’t have the tow package. It seemed like many of the Rangers delivered in the first part of the year were missing the feature.

They all said they would add it no problem when the package components became available and made no mention of warranty concerns. I’d probably work with a different dealer if possible at least to add the package.

Just curious. Do all rangers come with the Tow button on the console? Regardless of if with the tow package? Or is it just certain trim/package levels?

My Lariat has it and did not come with the tow package (have the hitch in the garage for this weekend).

The transmission on the ranger has an integrated cooler supplied with engine coolant from the engine and not from the radiator.
I think the Alternator is 150A on all Rangers

I’ve driven a bunch of SuperCrew. Fx4, non-fx4, lariat and xlt. All of those had the button. So I can’t say for certain but all the ones I’ve seen have. Most dealers have a pic of this area in their listing you can double check.

Not in the US! It is illegal for car manufacturers to void warranty unless added components can be proven to cause damage. Adding an OEM trailer hitch will not void the warranty.

I agree and ill bet that if you go higher up the chain you will not lose your warranty. I hope that you have the names of the idiots that told you wrong.

Does the power steering use elec to assist the tierods or it it an elec pump but still Hyd assist? Either way some sort of cooling would be needed.
