I’m gonna get me a Honda Trail 125. I think I want a small trailer to haul it around cuz, I don’t think it’ll fit in my 5ft bed and, being an old man, I don’t wanna snap a rib huffing it up a bike ramp.

All that to say, I need a tow hitch. I want it done right. Do I go to the Ford dealer, U Haul, or some truck hitch shop? What kind/size of hitch should I get for my cherished 2019 Lariat SuperCrew?

Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions.

For what your going to tow, any good quality class 3 hitch will do.
Ford hitch, while exceptional quality, if not fitted at the factory, is an expensive option, also the rear bumper is a bit different between the tow equipped and non tow equipped trucks.
U-Haul will be expensive as they will overcharge you for a simple hitch and labor.
Hitches are very easy to install....simple nut n bolt.
Go to web site, ETrailer, punch in your vehicle, and several good options will come up....their prices are very fair, ship for free. And if you have questions there are some knowledgeable people to help you.
Amazon is another good place to check on quality hitches....Curt and Draw Tite
All you need to install one is a socket set and some wrenches of the correct size.
Hitch should run $150--$160
After that, you'll need a ball mount , the drop needed will depend on the trailer you use and it's height at the coupler...ball mount needs to drop the ball to the correct height as the Rangers ass end sit a bit high.
Ball mount and ball, maybe another $50.

Here is my stock FX4 with a 3.5" drop ball mount and a U-Haul cargo trailer. (My truck does have Fox 2.0 rear shocks - they did not raise the rear end any). You can see the trailer is still slightly nose high, but it is close enough. If I was buying another mount, I'd probably go with a 5" drop, especially if I had larger than stock diameter tires (which I will when I replace the stock Hankooks).

U-Haul installation website and facilities don't work very well together. There should be a locally owned Plating or Welding shop near you that will have the proper hitch and will install it for you. That's what I did after U-Haul jerked me around with false appointment and item confirmations on their website, over the phone, and in-person.
