KO2 is great offroad but overkill if you're not doing that and wet grip/snow is middling. Falken wildpeak: https://www.falkentire.com/wildpeak/at3w is great all around and especially in snow.
I have to second this, I spent a lot of time "hemmin and hawwin" about what would suit me the best and came up with the Wildpeak AT3w tire. They are pretty quiet compared to the stock Tremor tires and generally perform better in the wet and slop. I haven't had a chance to see what they can do in the snow yet but they are 3 peak rated. You can find the Wildpeak as low as $250 per which compared to many others isn't all that bad.

Spray some Graphene 303 on it. Never have to worry about it again.
Page 2 doesn't provide context here. LOL

Cooper just released a new tire. Discoverer Road and Trail AT. I will be giving this and the AT3S a very hard look.

I have cooper AT3's also. they are awesome in the snow and worked great on a road trip through Wisconsin when I94 was a literal sheet of ice. we counted 24 cars in the ditch with 1 on it's lid. I was cruising no problems

Suredrive all terrain from Firestone. $154 per tire. Traction rating of a. 3 mountain peak rated for snow. Took a trip this summer on them from WV to MA, 2500 miles total, and have no complaints.
Ethically, I could never own anything Firestone. Ever.

As is your prerogative. If company ethics was my sole judging factor I couldn't own much of anything.
Well... there's ethics... and then there's a company that intentionally let people die just so they didn't have to admit to putting out a bad tire. I mean, that goes a little too far in my book, I guess.

And then, instead of taking their losses and dissolving away into obscurity, they had the audacity to just rebrand as Bridgestone and keep right on making tires. It's probably just my own thing, but that just really sticks in my craw.

hi new member here...thank you for accepting me!

i searched previous posts but i wanted some more up to date info if possible.

i have a 2020 ranger lariat fx4 with stock 265/60/r18 hankook tires. i only have 32000 kms (19000 miles) on it and my front tire has a screw in it and it is near the edge of the tire and i doubt it is repairable. just my luck that i bought out the lease and HAD a road hazard tire warranty before i discovered it.

the slow leak is slowly getting faster and i would like new tires before winter starts. i like the ride and low noise of the stock hankook tires. i do think they look a little small for the truck. i have never been off road in the truck but would like tires tough enough that if i did do a little light off roading they would stand up to it, but my main concern is nice quiet ride on the highway, good winter performance and similar fuel economy to what i get now.

i think my tires are too worn to just replace the single leaking tire and so i think i need at least a pair, but i don't want to have 2 new tires and 2 older tires..so i think i just need to go for 4 new tires. budget does matter but is not the biggest factor.

i love the look of rangers with the tremor package and the big tires but i don't want to lift the truck or end up with significantly lower fuel economy or a tippy truck.

i read on cartalk website that BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO are the best tires when budget is not a concern for a ranger with 18 inch wheels. can anyone confirm this?

for anyone who replaced tires on your ranger or are thinking about it, what would you recommend? i live in Canada and in a area with moderately bad winters (Ottawa, Canada).

thank you for any suggestions.
Welcome and I lived in the Ottawa region for a few years (Aylmer, west of Hull).

I'm partial to Nokian Outpost nAT but there are many great tires out there (or the Nokian Tyres One since I'll never do hard off roading). I still have my original Bridgestones (only 4K miles on my '22) and they do okay for my intense dump runs! =D

I do use chains on this 2WD that work great.

I'm sure any tire you choose will work out well for you. =)

I run the Cooper Rugged Treks now. They are overkill for what you are needing but good for their purpose.
^^^these. had em put on my truck about a week after taking possession. about 6k on em and no complaints. balanced out well and smooth as butter at highway speeds. perhaps a little road noise but nothing objectionable. and a nice "rugged" aggressive look

ko2s suck... not good in snow not good in rain only good in super dry situations and lasting a long time... worse tires ive ever owned and ive had a good amount of tires.

normally id say falken wildpeaks but i had a lot of issues with balance. but i know tons that didnt have this issue and work fine

toyo at3s can be good and i liked the set i had.... but sadly i had two belts slip on the tires and i junked them

ive heard good thing about the maxxis razors they are an at tire and my buddy ran them for awhile and said they were great

i gave up trying new tires and went back to cooper st maxx.. they are heavy but i know how they work and how well they act

I'm likely biased as that's what I put on mine so I agree.

They do well here in Western Maine and the foothill hills of the White Mountains.

I have ran BFG KO II tires, Big O Big Foot A/T II (made by Cooper) and Falken WildPeak A/T tires on several different Jeep models over the years.

The BFG and Big O tires were better suited for off road use and only did okay in heavy rain but didn't do so well in snow.

The Falken WildPeak A/T does well in haver monsoons along with snow and ice. They aren't as good when it comes to deep mud like the others.

Out of the three brands I will most likely go with the Falken Wildpeak's when I need tires for my XLT FX4.

I have no experience with the Toyo AT3 tires but they do get good reviews and seem to be a very popular A/T tire both online and when talking to dealerships and tire shops.

I thought long and hard about trying ST Maxx tires before getting the Rugged Treks. Not sure what made choose the Rugged Treks over them.

the st maxx are good buuuut they are heavy and rather aggressive tires and once the tread gets low on them they start to pull but im use to it and they lasted me 60k last time lol

Mine are 265/70/17 E rated. Those pigs are 52lbs a piece lol. Don’t need the load capacity but the cut/puncture resistance is nice. Getting a flat in gator and snake filled swamps is not fun especially at night. Plus some of the boat ramps have jagged concrete under the water. Not sure if the heavier duty tires make a difference but I figured it couldn’t hurt lol. 60k out of an aggressive tire is a win in my books!
