Thats what I was thinking about too, every little advantage we can get over road noiseOEM says sound screen on lower edge its acoustical. go OEM
So they lied to you. I'd get on the horn and do a F'n chargeback for a defective windshield. Let them fight with the CC co, and take some screenshots of the claims online, pics of your legs, and/or save the phone conversation (everyone should have a call recorder app).I do this stuff all the time and even archive the webpages in case they alter them afterwards, which many places will do. Have dealt with too many shady places and I've lost all patience for their BS.i had a new one put in last week. it was not the oem. looks fine fits fine. safelite claims the only difference is the new one does not say ranger, or have the made in usa factory whatever sticker. however, i have my doubts on that. ive had my truck for about 34k now and in that time ive never felt like i was getting sun burned inside the cab until the new glass went in. last weekend i drive about six hours total, hot sunny day and on the way home noticed both legs were red on top where the sun got me in the cab. so apparently the new glass does not block as much uv or something.
Who warrants a breakable glass item such as a windshield in the first place? So they lied to you. I'd get on the horn and do a F'n chargeback for a defective windshield. I didn't say warranty I said defective. And misleading advertisement. Not saying he'll get his money back but it is pretty easy to do a chargeback and ruffle them up.Who warrants a breakable glass item such as a windshield in the first place?
How is someone going to prove a defective windshield?
One unseen small chip in the corner can cause a crack to propagate across the whole windshield.
Ask me how I know.
they may have lied to me but im not sure enough to cause a stink yet. thankfully i only had to pay the deductible. however if I find enough proof to show they did hose me I will throw a karen fit.So they lied to you.
