@Project Midnight can we get a photo of the statement from Ford that denied your warranty? The piece of paper that said ā€œall the modsā€?
I will try and get that to you guys, when we requested pictures, ā€œJamieā€ said that Ford has them....

ā€œwell? Can you forward us the email that you sent Ford?ā€... total silence... I’m just done with the game... I’m paying to play, and I’m tired of paying to play... I want to thank 5 Star for helping me through this, I just want to move forward and get my truck back, and go from there... I apologize to lashing out at people in this community. With that being said, donā€˜t lash out at at me, when things aren’t moving the way you feel they should be... this is my journey, my ticket, my ride... until we speak again ?

So I'll ask one more time, What is 5 star doing about this? You paid good money for a warranty though them and shouldn't be going through all this BS. I know things don't happen overnight but you're going into the third month now? If Ford is denying to cover it than I'm guessing that both Ford and 5 Star are trying to work things out?
The delay, is between me and Ford.. 5 star has committed, and is on standby... this company is golden... I don’t want to have to pay, for a stock exhaust, installed, when I have a Ford Performance exhaust that a particular dealer won’t install... if I have options, I’m going to use them... just saying guys... ā€œ c’mon man ā€œ ?

I also, have a new idea , screwing the warranty... this is the hold up as I’m working this out... the guys that did my Dyno runs, and installed all my mods, also did Corvette and Camaro engine swaps... the owner, also did a Ford Raptor, duel Paxton Super Chargers swap, for his wife... the fact that they worked on her Ford Raptor F-150 and my Ford Ranger, and Dino pulls, I think I have a new route... ?

Per your agreement with 5 Star they will only pay a dealership to do it.

Going this route will probably be out of pocket.

If your only hangup with the dealership is an exhaust being installed why not just let them "restore it to warranty," with 5 Star paying for it, and install your own exhaust and/or build more from there?

You'd be a fool to waste the money you spent on the the tune warranty, and pay a shop out of pocket $8k to get what you want. The smart move is to use your tune warranty, get it back to stock and warrantied, then go spend $2k out of pocket to get it where you want.

This isn't a difficult decision.

Go.

Any catastrophic engine failure cooks the turbo since the oil in the engine cycles through the turbo, and after a rod leaves the crank, that oil is full of shrapnel. This shrapnel then goes through the turbo.

It might appear "good" at first glance, but it's 6 minutes from the grave 99% of the time. It's not worth taking the chance on.
What I do not understand is that for this much money they obviously can replace the entire unit (much like the FRPP crate motors) which would have the turbo, etc. included. Why charge for a turbo then? Unless, for the Ranger specific engine you can only get the long block, or short block, and then add onto that. For that much money they should be replacing everything. Insane $$$$

But doesn't this go against the 5 Star/Stage 3 warranty that requires the work be done by a Ford dealership? if they allow this for you , then that will set a precedent that will potentially screw up all of their future warranty claims. A simple Google search by someone in a similar situation as you will find this thread and see that 5 Star/Stage 3 made an exception. Or did you end up getting denied by 5 Star/Stage 3 too? You see why people on here think something is fishy? I totally think that dealership is screwing you. Not Ford, the dealership. I also think that it would be nice to know just what went wrong as well. For your information as well as the community. It would be nice to know if a tune or something mechanical and unrelated to the tune was the cause. It might not help your warranty claim because the Ford warranty was obviously voided, but others who have stood by you in the community would find this information valuable.

You can put on the exhaust yourself in your yard laying on your back. I did. Its crazy to pay someone to do it or make this the hold up.

Striker, could have used you earlier... we have requested pics, etc, from the dealer, Ford, symptoms, etc... but we’ve received nothing from Ford...
This is more in line with what I would have thought. They are protecting themselves.

if you wanted pictures you should have taken them yourself. By the way, is the engine in or out of the truck?

For sure.

I was gonna tell him my 15 year old daughter would do it for free, but I was trying to be nice.

D Fresh is not the only one becoming impatient. I assume the OP came on here for help? Maybe not. So far he hasn’t answered the simplest of questions. Not a single picture. We’re not even sure if he has personally inspected the damage. First it had to be a Ford dealer now he’s looking at an independent? I don’t get it.

It just seems very odd. And at this point fishy.

This is the big one (5 Star/Stage 3)...

H. Damages caused by the continued operation of an impaired vehicle and the Covered Components driven to destruction. It is Your sole responsibility to use all necessary precautions to protect the Vehicle from further damage if the Vehicle's operation is impaired. Continued operation of an impaired vehicle after any mechanical failure constitutes a failure to protect the Vehicle from further damage and is negligence by the Owner of the vehicle, thereby voiding this Limited Warranty.

There are other clauses that could void it as well.
