Lets take before and after photos of our intercooler’s faces with and without over a 1 year period.

That’s mine after 2 months. How many rock hits you see? ?

Intercooler face is untouched and flawless still.

Also that portion of the grill is flat faced. Air goes nowhere but straight on through. Same as main grill

Yeah I looked at installing mine. It's a problem. I'm gonna have to drop the skid plate to get access to it. Even tried to access it from the top, too much crap to take off. Next weekend

Just got my 2021 Ranger Lariat - no adaptive CC, was wondering why there was no protection for the intercooler. Ordered the Mountains2Medal grill. It attaches using the plastic rivets at the top of the opening instead of bolting to the license plate frame mount and double-sided tape like the Putco. Wish it attached at the bottom too. I'll post after the install and a year later - we'll see which one holds up better!

I just looked and I have some dents in whatever that is down there(ac condenser or radiator or inter cooler) already after 600 miles. Not sure if that’s OK or I should restrict some air to protect it

Well I didn’t know this was a thing. I will get those. But since there is some damage already I just worry this will keep happening and maybe worse. I’m on the fence of leaving it open or not

I've had this in for awhile (couple of months at least) and it hasn't made any temperature changes (reflected in the gauge needle) that I've observed and I am speaking about sport mode, up hill in 90 degree air temps for a couple of miles, 75+ mph...YRMV

and it sits in front of the sensor block there without issue so far.
Still finding no issues with having it in front of the adaptive cruise sensor?

I spent $5 on a metal black gutter guard from home depot. I trimmed it up, cut some tabs & bolted it to the license plate bracket. it's been good for the past 4000 miles. If anything happens to or it rusts I'll just go by another one.
