I see in the one pic that the front crash bar was removed. Did you have to cut it and remove the remainder or take off the front bumper to slide them out? Did you also have to remove the rear one's as well? I'm picking my wheels up this week 17x9 -12 offset with 285/70/17 Moto Metal M0970's with the gray center and black lip. Certainly will pop on the lighting blue. I put a 305/70/17 with the same Moto Metal's 17x9 -12's on the this weekend and with my 3in level kit, it was rubbing front and rear on the crash bars. Just want to get everything prepped before I have the shop put these on.FINALLY! ... Icon 3āā lift, Fuel wheels and BF Mud installed ... this was a textbook case of Murphyās law! lol
Congrats on your Ranger! And I agree the black/grey is great on our color. Stands out in a sea of plain black wheels!I see in the one pic that the front crash bar was removed. Outstanding, thank you sir. I'll get busy removing these. At least I don't have to chop the cab mounts and fenders like on my Tacoma just to get 33's under it. I would be curious with what your shop comes up with. I do a lot of off road and hunting here in the panhandle of Florida and have a lot of area's I'm sure I will run into a full flex of the front. Will hit the trails this weekend to see how much rubbing I will get.Congrats on your Ranger! And I agree the black/grey is great on our color. Stands out in a sea of plain black wheels!
Yes both front and rear crash bars have been cut. You can see pics of this in my earlier postings. I donāt believe you can fit more than a 265 if you leave them on. As far as rubbing you should be fine with a 285. Iām having issues with rubbing on the rear section of the inner fenders at full lock because the 295s are quite a bit taller than my winter 285s.
Iām meeting with shop today to figure out how to fix this prior to my first trail run. Under flex and the wheels turned Iām afraid Iāll dig the tires right into that inner fender.
I finally got around to having my wheels and tires installed. Instead of trimming the plastic crash blocks, I took them completely out. Only (4) 14mm bolts holding them in place. Amazing how much additional room there was. Under full flex and full lock neither sides rub with the 295/70/17's. I was also able to save the OEM carpet liners by pushing in and pulling tight to the inner block mounting bolt next to the frame. Just used one of the original mounting bolts with an oversized washer to secure it in place. Once I get the fabtech crash bars in, I will more than likely trim up those plastics blocks to fit back behind the bars. Might have to tweak the rear bars and blocks but will see when they come in and I find the time. But for off-roading I think Iāll need to start āgrindingā away at that plastic thingy on the inner fender. Under moderate flex and at full lock itās cutting it a little too close for comfort!

I've planned a lot of things out for the ranger Im getting next spring (hopefully) when I graduate, but I never thought about getting a stripe kit or decal until I saw this.... this looks awesome!! Could you post a link to where you got it from? Also, I'm assuming that retractable cover is the one through Ford Accessories. It's compatible with the Tonneau Kit 1 from Yakima? How's the quality? I've heard some bad things about Retrax so Im edgey on getting their cover but I really want the Outpost HD from Yakima. My preferred cover is the American Roll Cover from Truck Covers USA but for now that doesnt work with Yakima's new truck rack system.Kinda ashamed to post this but I started this thread and donāt have any of the āmainā mods come in yet so what was supposed to go on last ends up going up first.
But...
This stripe kit did give me a good 15hp increase, certified by a genuine PoserPower Dyno.
Also the manufacturer, Bro-Engineering, is currently seeking certification to state that this kit is as effective as a front locker while negociating a Walmart parking lot (in dry weather). But it has hit a snag with the Justine Trudeau government because of high toxic masculinity emissions measured under the newly enacted intersectional climate change initiative.
There are 2 rivet holes that hold the drip rails in place, one at the front and one at the rear. The Wildtrack bars use those holes as mounting points. I thought it would be a more Ā« rugged Ā» mount with multiple screws but thats all there is to it!Time out, I thought you ended up finding out that there weren't existing holes in the roof for the rack. Did they end up being there or did you have to drill and use nut-serts?
Thanks for the compliment!I've planned a lot of things out for the ranger Im getting next spring (hopefully) when I graduate, but I never thought about getting a stripe kit or decal until I saw this.... this looks awesome!! I found the inspiration from a pic I found on the Olā Google machine:
I then gave it to the dealer and they had their supplier come up with a design based on that.
As for the tonneau Iām kinda disappointed not in the quality but rather itās operation. I first intended on buying a Pace-Edwards because I liked the ease of opening/closing the cover (Itās sort of on a spring mechanism) unfortunately it wasnāt available when I bought the truck. No such option on the Retrax/Ford cover, itās manual all the way, as in you need to walk beside the truck with the latch in hand to open and close it. You cant stay at the tailgate and pull a strap like on many others (P-E included).
And yes itās fully compatible with the Yakima and Thule system. Just remember to order the proper Ā« legs Ā» for those racks.
Remember that the Retrax/Ford isnāt the only cover compatible with both Yakima and Thule rail system racks. The Pace-Edwards Ultragroove is among them. Shop around Iām sure youāll find something you like and you have resources like this Forum to guide you. Us Ā« early adopters Ā» made the mistakes ahead of you so you donāt have to! HahaThanks for the heads up! Im seriously debating now whether to get the cover I want and work a rack system around that rather than work the cover around the Outpost...
