Well, I found a good price on a F-150 Tremor. Now that you are ordering 2025’s, remaining 2024’s and gently used 2023’s are coming down in price. This truck checks a lot of the boxes.

The dealership is pulling together the details of the trade and sale. Not sure we will come to an agreement on the price. But, this will give me an idea of where I’m at.

I chose the ranger because I lived in a condo an the parking was tight for an F150. It was easy to live with imo. I like the new ranger raptors too. My daughter bought a new Navigator an I was checking it out....more than I'd spend but then I saw you can get a two year old lease return for half the new price. I may explore this when I get tired of bouncing around in the bronco. Or a ranger raptor.

If I was going to buy an F150, Tremor would be my target. Damn nice trucks. That said, the $ Ford wants for them is insane.

Amazes me how many of them I see running around. Everyone isn't rich. So a lot of these clowns must have payments that I would NEVER sign off on.

On that note, yesterday I was next to a new (30 day tags on it) F250, diesel, FX4, Platinum. Imagine what that idiot paid for that truck. And to continue the "idiot" discussion, F250, FX4, diesel, and Plantinum package? That truck has the cargo capacity of an average F150. And I guarantee you the guy that bought it is completely clueless to that fact.

as i patiently await Ford to give us the crew cab long bed option (i should just change my username to CCLB since i make this comment so much) i am often tempted by F150 sales. Nearly went with one, but recent storm damage derailed plans and accelerated new plans that include home upgrades. There went my big truck money.

In the meantime I think I'm just gonna buy a $2,500 open top trailer and give it a spot next to my garage. That way I'll have my own "long bed" while I wait. A lot cheaper than a full size and I can wait for the nice-to-haves on a newer Ranger.

Well, couldn’t make the numbers work on a Ranger Raptor. No incentives/rebates, and no breaks on the financing.

But, a Tremor 402A made the short list. Additional features I like:
Memory seats/mirrors/steering column, heads up display, ventilated seats, leather, modular front bumper, flat rear floor, so - much - storage!

Things I’m not a fan of:
Panoramic roof - I’m light sensitive so the roof and cover will be closed the majority of the time, folding shift knob and fold out work space, this new tailgate - I prefer the tailgate step, the “exposed carbon” accents - it just looks like fingerprint smudges.

Deal should be wrapped up Wednesday. Maybe…

Thanks!

The F-150 is only 6” wider without the mirrors, 10” if you compare both with mirrors folded open. Just clears a support beam in my parking garage, glad it isn’t any taller.

Exactly why I like my Ranger! Remember when the F150 was the same size as the current Ranger?

I’m bouncing back and forth with F150 hybrid powerboost 7kwh battery or keep my Ranger. I’m at 25k miles lariat fx4 paid off. I can certainly upgrade with money savings if I keep it.. IDK..

I do! My first F150 was back in 1996 (was a '97) which was the first year they changed the body style from the square front end to the rounded one. It was the same size as the Ranger is now and I bought a new one every 3 years (for business) up until 2013. When I sold the business and moved to AZ in 2016 I was going to buy another but they were just to big even back then. So I was stuck buying a new '16 Tacoma. :puke:

I wish they still made the 250 light duty. I bought a new 1998 f250 light duty lariat and that was the perfect size truck. 3800 pound load capacity, 10k towing, and very comfortable ride. It was one of my favorite trucks ever until the tranny went at 35k miles. Had weird 7 lug wheels though.

I also had the newly redesigned 1997 F150. Extended cab with step side bed.

I just looked up the dimensions. The F150 has only grown 1” from 1997 - 2024.
The Ranger has grown quite a bit. Its is only 1” narrower that the current F150.
