I honestly don't know much about them. Except for to stay away from them especially when there's little ones around because momma won't be to happy.
Hi Dave,

Down in Amado, AZ, they have a Javalina fest. The prep for the fest is to take a Javalina which is dead...put in in a gunnery sack. Bury it in the ground for three weeks...then remove and discard the Javelina and eat the gunney sack...

Best,
Phil

Looks like fun! I've lived my entire life (outside of the USN) in the midwest. Not sure I could ever convince the family to move to that area or climate. Would probably be a lot better for our health though.
Steven,

Albuquerque is located in a high desert area and we have the 4 seasons here but nothing really extreme. Considered to be a warm and dry climate. Not a lot of rain but normal for a high desert place. The temperatures average from 27°F to 93°F Albuquerque Climate, Weather By Month, Average Temperature (New Mexico, United States) - Weather Spark
It snows and freezes several times each year but generally clears in several days and you can usually get outside afterwards without being too uncomfortable. Good for biking and other outdoor activities. It dipped down to freezing (32 degrees) last night for the 1st time this year. It also gets above 100 degrees several times a year.

The climate is considered to be healthy and in the early days they established sanitariums here to treat TB patients in warm, dry conditions.

The downside of living here is the high crime status which politicians try to cover up. The main cause for this is our city is a distribution point for drugs that come from the southern border which creates this condition. You have to constantly watch your back to be covered. But You get used to this just like any other negative situations that occur where people live :)

Did some riding yesterday in the canyon behind our city Dam. Not a good area to drop a bike...cactus all over the place! Great weather...around 70ish.

Looks like great fun Paul. The desert is my favourite place to ride.

Duke,
Good looking terrain! Where's the location? See the Saguaro in the background. Arizona?

Thanks for the details Paul. A friend of mine from the Navy lives there. He used to live in Edgewood but as his dad got older and needed care, he moved in with him in Albuquerque. I think he still works at the University there as an HVAC / Maintenance technician. We were pretty much like brothers in the Navy. We went through Nuclear Power School together and ended up on the same Submarine together too. Then, we had shore duty in the same facility after that!

With those in political office in New Mexico, I'd die of a stroke long before old age! LOL!

My sister and husband live in Edgewood and not much medical care available there. Small town, so I take the Ranger to the Ford dealer there frequently because it's a lot easier to get an appt. there than with the big dealers here who are overloaded with customers. You're right about the political scene here! Submarine service sounds like a great adventure with a lot of responsibility and probably not a pleasant assignment for people who have claustrophobia?

I had a few friends and customers send me these pics which they saw from here in AZ. Crazy how close it is coming out of CA and of course I missed it.

It's the SpaceX Falcon 9 launched from Vandenberg AFB in California and I guess Elon is launching the Starlink internet service Satellites.

Well, it ain’t pretty but I had to take this photo when I saw it.

Here’s how to convert your old satellite TV dish into a hillbilly diy gazebo to go with that old lawn furniture you have kicking around…I don’t think it comes with, or even needs an installation guide….
